  • Every parent needs support in raising screen-smart families who use technology for meaningful connections. If you have a child who is struggling in areas related to digital issues, our team of coaches and counsellors are here to guide and support you in your parenting journey.

    In this 1-hr online session, you can:

    • Share your child's challenges regarding digital issues, e.g. cyberbullying, digital addiction
    • Explore strategies to have better conversation on digital use and strengthen your parent-child relationship

    Parent Coaching is conducted by an experienced coach to help parents develop upstream strategies catered to their child and navigate digital challenges, set healthy digital boundaries and acquire media literacy as well as digital intelligence.

    Parent Counselling is guided by an accredited counsellor to provide assistance to parents whose children are experiencing digital-related emotional and mental distress e.g., cyberbullying, digital addiction.

    Clement Ong

    Clement Ong is a Certified Coach with years of experience working with families, particularly with young parents and couples. He has a passion in empowering parents to bring up strong and resilient children. Clement holds a Master of Social Science in Professional Counselling. Clement has two young adult children, Joel, 24, and Clarice, 22, with his wife of 25 years, Cheryl.

     

    Joe Chan

    Joe is a Master Solution-Focused Practitioner and a Professional Certified Coach with the International Coaching Federation. With over 16 years of experience working with young people in the social services, Joe is passionate to equip young people and parents with the tools to achieve healthy relationships. Joe is an experienced Family Life educator with Focus on the Family Singapore and is trained in Emotional Intelligence Assessment. In his free time, Joe enjoys dragon boating and catching movie shows with his wife, Jennifer and his 2 young boys.

     

    Ronald Yow

    As a professional certified coach (ICF) and an ACTA certified trainer, Ronald conducts transformative coaching training both locally and in Southeast Asia. Equipped with 20 years of experience in working with children, youths and families in many corporate and non-profit organisations, Ronald has conducted various seminars, workshops and talks on parenting and youth-related topics. He is a Trainer with Focus on the Family Singapore and a father to 2 teenage daughters.

     

    Susan Fong

    Susan Fong is a leadership trainer, human resources consultant and ICF certified coach. Her passion is to develop the competencies and potential of people. As a passionate supporter of healthy family life, she desires to help parents build stronger bonds with their children. Married with 2 teenagers, she enjoys networking with women, taking nature walks and having meals with her family.

     

    Wu Mi Yin

    Dr Wu Mi Yin is passionate about working with educators, parents and leaders to grow their capacity in pursuing what matters to them. She is a Trainer at Focus on the Family Singapore, a certified Professional Transformational Coach and Gallup-certified Strengths Coach. She provides organisational and personal development consultancy, and training services to schools and civil service agencies. Mi Yin has been happily married for over 20 years and has 3 children.

    Parent Coaching & Counselling

    Confidentiality

    I understand that all coaching and counselling records are kept confidential, with the following exceptions:

    1. When the client can be accurately assessed as being a threat or danger to self, others or society;
    2. When coaching information is subpoenaed by a court and/or the Ministry of Social and Family Development.

    I understand that in such instances, my coach/counsellor is bound ethically and legally to inform the proper and relevant authorities.

    Online Sessions

    I am aware that internet communication security is not perfect. I am responsible for securing my own computer hardware, internet access points, and password security. Focus on the Family Singapore will do their best to maintain computer files and hardcopy files of online correspondence with utmost security measures in place. I understand to maintain confidentiality for this online session, I will commit to ensuring that the session takes place in an environment that is private and quiet with no other persons around and with minimal distractions. I also understand that I am not allowed to make an audio or video recording of any portion of the session.

    Technology

    I understand that Focus on the Family Singapore is not responsible for my equipment failure, e.g. camera, and/or Internet service, and/or for any lapses in confidentiality that are in direct response to my actions or issues arising from other communication platforms such as Zoom or MS Teams and internet provider.

    Risk

    I understand that coaching is not a crisis-based clinical service. This service is not suitable for clients who have suicidal or homicidal thoughts, or who are experiencing acute mental health problems, such as manic or psychotic symptoms.

    It is my responsibility to inform the coach at Focus on the Family Singapore if I am at risk of harm to myself or others.

    If I was not formerly at risk, but should become at risk of such harm to self or others, I must immediately report to my coach at Focus on the Family Singapore. I understand that in such cases, I may be referred to another relevant provider.
