The library system complies with Federal laws requiring Internet access to be filtered for children under age 18; however, filters are not perfect. Please establish rules for Internet use and accompany your child to the library each time they visit. To help families with providing supervision, parents may block their child’s library card from using Internet Computers. Your decision may be changed at any time by notifying the library staff. (Note: Children with blocked cards may still use the library’s Catalog and Database Computers. These computers restrict access to sites listed in the library catalog or reference databases purchased by the library system.)

Library users under the age of 18 must have parental permission to check out DVDs and audiobooks. Granting permission to borrow DVDs and audiobooks denotes an acknowledgement and understanding that UCLS libraries own and circulate materials including DVDs and unrated television series that may be geared toward mature audiences and that a minor child will have access to and be able to check out any of these materials.
