We encounter different systems almost everywhere in our lives, both professionally and in everyday situations. Not all of them seem to be interoperable. For example, a navigation app will not be able to interpret equations, and it might not be trivial to ask Mathematica to compile your Julia computations. Think of any two systems—what would a marriage of the two look like? (We understand marriage here in the sense of establishing the base for communication and exchange.)
