Monday March 13th: Winter Travel. Let's pull out the snowshoes, the toboggans, and the skis, as we experiment with the best ways to travel across the snowy trails at Mac Johnson. We ask campers to bring a cardboard box or two, as we put our creativity to the test and build our own winter transportation. Get ready? Get set! Go!
Tuesday March 14th: Winter Wonders. Do you like to solve mysteries? Maybe you like to find hidden treasures? Winter is one of the best seasons to find clues in the forest and uncover who lives here at Mac Johnson. It is also a great time to make snow volcanoes and explore the science of snow. If you like experimenting and unearthing mysterious clues, you will love what we have in store for you during our Winter Wonders day at Mac Johnson.
Wednesday March 15th - Animal Adaptations. Have you ever wondered how frogs survive the cold, harsh Canadian winters? Or maybe why some animals don't quite look the same in the Winter as they do in the Summer? Reach for your detective gear and let's uncover the spectacular world of animal adaptations. You will learn new games, get creative, and make lots of memories with your friends.
Thursday March 16th - Winter Survival. What do you think of when you hear "Winter Camping"? Yep, it is a real thing and we are going to learn all about it. Today will be packed full of adventure, as we use compasses to navigate the trails, set up a REAL campsite, enjoy a cookout, and build shelters of our own. You will learn about what works best as insulation and how best to stay dry. We invite campers to bring food they can cook on the fire or something warm they can enjoy outside.
Friday March 17th - Nature Extravaganza. As the seasons change, so do we. Join us as we have an early celebration of the Spring Equinox with games, crafts, and snow much fun! Don't fret, if the snow has already started to melt, we know how to have a FABulous time with the mud too!
