PQMD Code of Conduct
  • PQMD Code of Conduct

Member Representatives, Committee Members and Staff
  • The PQMD Members are committed to effective decision-making to support the mission and vision of PQMD. To that end, PQMD Member Representatives, committee members and staff will demonstrate respect to all other members and counterparts through the following Code of Conduct. All Member Representatives, committee members, and staff are expected to adhere to the Code of Conduct.

Within the PQMD meeting session environment:

    • Endeavour to represent the broader interests of member organization/company.
    • Respect all organizations and companies represented in the PQMD membership.
    • Participate in and contribute to discussions and the work of PQMD to advance projects and programs aligned to the mission of PQMD.
    • Be willing to be a dissenting voice, build on other Member representatives ideas, offer alternative points of view as options to be considered, and invite others to do so too.
    • During discussion of important issues, maintain balance in efforts to make oneself understood and to understand other member representatives.
    • Support and accept Board decisions once made, even if member or representative’s own view is a minority one.
    • Refrain from fundraising solicitation and discussion during meetings, discussions, and sessions.
    • Any issues should be brought to the Board of Directors, specifically the Chair of the Board.

Outside the PQMD meeting session environment:

    • Be an advocate for PQMD and its mission wherever and whenever the opportunity arises in one’s own personal and professional networks.
    • Continue to respect the missions of all member organizations and companies represented in PQMD.
    • Respect the confidentiality of information on sensitive issues and topics for continued discussion.
    • Refrain from trying to influence other members or member representatives with the potential effect of creating factions and limiting free and open discussion.
    • Will not disclose or discuss differences of opinion regarding PQMD matters with those who are not PQMD Members. Externally, member representatives should communicate with “one voice.”

    Overall:

    • Maintain a safe environment in which all individuals are treated with respect and dignity, free from discrimination, intimidation, hostility, violence, or other offenses. Harassment of any sort (verbal, physical or sexual) and any type of workplace violence, or threats of harm will not be tolerated.
    • Promote equal opportunities in all relationships among persons in a business-like manner, free of explicit bias, prejudice and harassment on the basis of race, color, ancestry, religion, creed, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, pregnancy or related medical conditions (including but not limited to lactation), age, disability, marital status, citizenship, national origin, socioeconomic background, genetic information, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
    • Refrain from proselytizing in any form. PQMD and its members will not offer assistance that is conditioned—explicitly or implicitly—on adherence to or conversion to any particular faith. PQMD will not partner with individuals or entities that require religious engagement or messaging designed to induce conversion as part of their involvement with PQMD.
