    Ideal Candidate

As you know, the Fellows Program is more than a leadership development experience - it is a journey with a trusted community. Designed for senior and emerging leaders, the program invites those who are ready to engage in deep self-reflection and learn alongside peers from across business, government, and the nonprofit sectors. Leadership today requires navigating complexity and uncertainty; technical expertise alone is not enough. The Fellows Program prepares leaders for this by emphasizing the inner work of leadership alongside the capacity for collective impact.

An ideal candidate for an ALF Fellows class is someone who:

    • Holds significant responsibility and has demonstrated an ability to bring diverse groups together to achieve measurable success.
    • Leads with integrity and self-awareness, leveraging their unique life experiences to strengthen group dynamics.
    • Demonstrates empathy and insight, using their personal journey to inspire, guide, and deepen connections with others.
    • Is committed to growth - both their own and that of others - approaching the world with consistent humility and curiosity.
    • Views challenges as opportunities, acknowledging mistakes and applying lessons learned.
    • Has a broad, established sphere of influence and the proven ability to inspire and engage others within it.

    Before You Begin

    • Please review the nomination form in its entirety before filling it out. The Selection Committee relies heavily on your thoughtful recommendation to identify prospective Fellows in this competitive process.
    • A Critical Reminder: Double-check the spelling of your nominee’s name and email address. This information is used to notify your nominee that they need to complete their application in order to be considered by the Selection Committee.

    What Happens After You Submit

    • A copy of your nomination will be emailed to you and the seconding Senior Fellow.
    • Your nominee will be notified automatically via email with instructions to complete their application.
      • Your nominee will not see the information you provided in the nomination.
      • Please ask your nominee to watch for this email and to check their spam folder if it does not arrive.

If Your Candidate Is Not Selected

Nominations remain current for two full cycles of Selection Committee review. If the candidate is not extended an invitation during that time, the nomination must be renewed for further consideration.

We are grateful for your partnership in building a community of adaptive, courageous leaders who build trust, bridge divides, and serve the common good.
