Workshop - Project Inspired by Wealthy P. Nichols' Tatted Bonnet$30.00

Wealthy’s father was a Searsport Sea captain and she spent much of her childhood at sea with her family. Inspired by Wealthy’s tatted bonnet, this mailed workshop kit includes patterns, string, and a metal tatting shuttle to make your own bookmark and circular motif. The kit also includes the full pattern for Wealthy’s bonnet (materials not included). Join us on Zoom on March 2nd at 6pm to share your progress or completed pieces, go over any challenging spots in the pattern, and ask questions. Workshop kits will be mailed the next business day. Optional Intro To Tatting sessions are included with registration fee.

This program is part of a series of winter workshops and presentations that began in 2021 and explore the lives of Coastal Maine women through textiles and handicrafts in the Penobscot Marine Museum collection. The series was supported by a 2021 grant from the Belvedere Traditional Handcrafts Fund of the Maine Community Foundation.
