Discover Educational Therapy is an educational therapy practice in the Culver City/ Palms neighborhood dedicated to helping neurodiverse learners thrive. Educational therapy is highly individualized one on one instruction. Unlike tutoring which focuses solely on academic content, educational therapy focuses on the foundational skills people need to help them be successful in the classroom, at work, at home, and in social settings. It is designed to help people with specific learning and social differences utilize tools and develop strategies that work for them long-term. Discover Educational Therapy's Homework Den is for neurodiverse students that would benefit from executive functioning support and body doubling when completing homework.
Executive Functioning Support: We help students prioritize their work for the day by utilizing techniques such as digital to-do lists, pomodoro time-management, self-monitoring, organizational management, and more!
Body Doubling Strategy: This strategy is known to help neurodivergent individuals stay on task. The basic priciple of it is that two people are better than one while completing tasks. When someone else is in the room, one is more likely to stay on task, remain motivated, and keep focused. Additionally, it can take some of the edge off of non-preferred tasks by reducing anxiety, staving off boredom, and making time feel like its moving faster.
Homework Den runs from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm PST. Students are welcome to join at our office or via Zoom, and can arrive and depart at any point within that window if they have other activities or finish their work early.

Billing
Billing for Homework Den is up front. You will select which package you would like to purchase below and we will send you an invoice via Quickbooks. Once the invoice is paid, we will send you the Zoom link and office access information.
We will send you a reminder when your package is almost complete so that you can purchase more Homework Den access passes if you wish.
