  • Sur La Table: A Celebration of Tableware

    Canadian Clay Symposium, March 21, 2026 
    Venue: Shadbolt Centre, Burnaby

    Eligibility  

    • This non-juried exhibition is open to all members of the Potters Guild of BC in good standing.
    • Applications must be received by 11:59 pm on March 15, 2026 to participate.
    • There is no application fee for this show. 
    • It is NOT required to have a ticket for the Clay Symposium to submit for this show. 

    Exhibition Details

    • Sur La Table is a 1 day pop-up exhibition taking place during the Canadian Clay Symposium at the Shadbolt Centre in Burnaby, BC on March 21, 2026.
    • Works in this exhibition may include but not limited to: plates, platters, bowls, cups, candelabras, vases, salt and pepper shakers and other forms of "tableware". 
    • Each artist is welcome to submit 2 submissions. The primary submission can be a set of up to 4 pieces (minimum 2).
    • The second optional submission may be an individual stand-alone single piece.
    • The artist may decide to price the work individually or as a set. 
    • All works in the exhibition must be for sale. Not for sale work will not be included in the exhibition. 
    • Artist consignment is 75% of the retail amount for any work sold.
    • Each submission must be delivered by the artist with a sticker with artist name, retail price and code on bottom of work. Email to follow with specific labelling details.
    • The PGBC reserves the right to refuse work for technical reasons, at the discretion of the Board of Directors and Exhibition Committee.

  • Primary Submission

    Use the fields below to provide information about the piece you will submit to the Sur La Table exhibition. This second OPTIONAL submission can be an additional standalone piece. Must be within the theme of Sur La Table: dinnerware, tableware or items found on the table. You can skip this section if you don't have a relevant piece.

  • Delivery of Work 

    Works must be dropped off at the Shadbolt Centre 6450 Deer Lake Ave, Burnaby on the morning of March 21, 2026 before the event starts. More details on drop-off location and time will follow in a future email. 

  • Return of Work 

    Unsold work must be picked up by artists from the exhibition on the afternoon of March 21 between 3:45 pm - 4:15 pm.

    All work needs to be removed from the Shadbolt by 4:30 pm. Please ensure you are there to pick up the work within this time frame.  

  • EXHIBITION CONTRACT

  •  Eligibility

    • Applications must be received by 11:59 pm on March 15, 2026 to participate.

    Artist Consignment

    • Artist consignment is 75% of the retail amount for any work that is sold. 
    • The artist consignment payment will be made by cheque or e-transfer from the Potters Guild of British Columbia to the individual artist.
    • The artist can indicate whether they want their legal name or business name used for payment. 
    • If you collect GST, provide us with your GST number above and we will include 5% GST on your artist consignment portion for any works sold. 
    • Payment to artists will be made within 30 days of the exhibition.   

     

    Liability

    • Packaging suitable for transportation is the responsibility of the individual artist. 
    • Each work submitted will be inspected by the PGBC Board of Directors during the exhibition setup. 
    • Any works that arrive damaged will be photographed and documented. Artists will not be paid artist consignment for any works that arrive damaged. 
    • Artist consignment (75% of retail price) will be paid by the PGBC to the artist for any work in the event that it is damaged or stolen during the exhibition. 
    • Individual non-members of the PGBC are responsible to pay the full retail amount to the PGBC for any work they damage or break. 
    • Members of the PGBC are responsible to pay the artist consignment portion (75% of retail price) to the PGBC for any work they damage or break that is not their own, in order to compensate the artist whose work was broken or damaged.
