To ensure conference sessions and one-to-one meetings run smoothly, we collect information on our delegates' travel plans.

Please note places for technical visits are limited and are allocated on a first come, first served basis. If you would like to join the technical visits but have not confirmed your travel information, please email Yashashree at yashashree.falnikar@irits.org to book your place.

Technical Visits
Information about the Technical Visits.

The technical visits will take place from 13:00-18:00 on Tuesday, 21 February 2023.

There will be two simultaneous visits:

Group A: From Rome to Naples…Italo high speed experience

Delegates will make a trip on the Roma-Napoli high speed line, either on the Italo ETR675 (maximum speed 250km/h) or AGV575 (maximum speed 300km/h). Accommodated on board, Italo will give a general introduction of the trainset and onboard services. Divided into small groups, delegates will visit the driving cab with one of Italo's expert Driving Trainers, with particular attention to driving desk equipment and signalling system (ERTMS Level 2 and National system SCMT).

The journey will start from Roma Termini Station at 14:30.

Group B: Roma Termini with FSI - historical control centre & unique new parking

Delegates will visit the control centre used between the 1920’s and 1999 for the Rome to Napoli route and learn about its traffic management system. In addition, delegates will visit the fine architecture of the unique new parking area, built whilst the station was in operation, where 1200 cars can park above the platform.

If you would like to attend the visits on 21 February 2023, please report to the event registration desk at Sheraton Parco de' Medici hotel lobby by 13:00 for a prompt departure at 13:30. The above timings indicate expected hotel departure and arrival times.
