The Mars-Schlotter Pay It Back Scholarship was established to support the post high school education goals of female track and cross-country athletes from Lockport Township High School. Chris Marszalek and Evon Schlotter were dedicated educators and coaches at LTHS and wanted to continue to support students at LTHS.
The Mars-Schlotter Pay It Back Scholarship is a $1,000.00 scholarship that will be awarded to a graduating senior of Lockport Township High School who participated in the girls’ cross-country or track team in their Junior and/or Senior year. The scholarship will be presented at the LTHS Awards Night held annually in the spring.
An applicant must complete the application form and submit the required documents as outlined below.
Application Process:
1. Upload an essay (typed, double-spaced, 500-word maximum length) answering the following question:
How has being a member of the girls track or cross-country team impacted you?
2. Upload two letters of recommendation; one should be from an LTHS faculty member.
3. Upload a resume with the following information:
- Work experience (jobs with or without pay)
- School experiences (athletics, clubs, etc.)
- Out-of-school activities (church, scouts, etc.
4.The following criteria will be used as part of the selection process:
- Good academic standing with a 2.75 or higher grade-point average
- Demonstration of positive role modeling
- Demonstration of team spirit while running girls track or cross-country
