Scholarship Description
The Jefferson County Farm Bureau will be awarding up to $2,000 in scholarships for qualified students from Jefferson County who are or will be pursuing further education.
The scholarship recipients will be announced in May. Recipients will also be acknowledged at the Jefferson County Farm Bureau Annual Meeting in September. The scholarship money will be paid in January following completion of one (1) quarter or semester of school. A copy of your college transcript will be required from the preceding fall quarter or semester to receive your scholarship money. Any scholarship money that is not claimed after one (1) year will be forfeited.

Applicant Eligibility
- The applicant, parent or legal guardian must be a current member of the Jefferson County Farm Bureau for the last two consecutive membership years.
- The applicant, parent or legal guardian must also be a resident of and/or attend school in Jefferson County.
Scholarship Rules and Regulations
- The scholarship recipients will be chosen by the Jefferson County Farm Bureau Scholarship committee.
PLEASE NOTE – This application is estimated to take one hour to complete and must be completed in one sitting. Please obtain your transcript (can be an unofficial copy), letters of recommendation, and write your essay(s) before beginning this application.
- Letters of Recommendation (2):
- Applicants must obtain two (2) letters of reference from an adult leader, mentor, and/or educator who describes the applicant’s academic, community service, and/or leadership experiences.
- Letters cannot come from family members.
- Letters may not be written by the applicant, anyone under 21 years of age, or anyone related to the applicant or serving as a legal guardian.
- Contact information (at least one phone number) should be included for each reference.
- Please note that letters of recommendation must be dated within the last six (6) months and cannot be reused if you have previously applied for this scholarship.
