Applicant Eligibility
- Parents/guardians or applicant MUST be a Lake County Farm Bureau member. Membership must be maintained and paid at the time of scholarship announcement and awarding of monies at Annual Meeting in the fall.
- Applicants must prove enrollment or letter of admission to a minimum two year program or institution of higher learning.
- Applicants must be considered a full-time student, with a renewable award for pursuing undergraduate as well as graduate studies.
- Applicants must have a cumulative grade point average 2.5
Scholarship Rules and Regulations
- This is a renewable scholarship with the amount to be determined by the number of acceptable qualifying applications.
- Scholarship applications will be reviewed by the advisory committee and ranked on a scoring system that considers academic excellence, community involvement, and responses to essay questions. The scoring system places a higher emphasis on applicants with agricultural involvement, and Farm Bureau involvement and membership history. The decision of the advisory committee shall be final.
- The award will be payable in the fall after the attendee and/or a representative attend the county Annual Meeting. The Farm Bureau membership must be in good standing at both the time of application and at payout of monies. The Lake County Farm Bureau reserves the right to withhold scholarship monies if the required qualifications are not met.
- Recipient and/or a representative MUST attend the county Farm Bureau Annual Meeting in the fall
- Any scholarship monies not claimed within one (1) year will be forfeited.
- No handwritten applications will be accepted.
