2023 Internship Scholarship Application

Department of Design
Internship Scholarships are awarded to qualifying students (BA or BFA) in the Department of Design. Any awards apply first to your university financial holds, tuition or fees. If there is any excess funds, the money will be deposited to your checking account once all noted obligations are met. Awards are nontransferable.

Scholarship application needs to be submitted before the internship begins. Applications submitted after the start of the internship will not be considered.

Students who receive the award will be responsible for submitting a report on the experience. Your report is an important record of the experience, and is shared with the individual donors who have funded your award.
Qualifications
- Recipients must first submit an Internship application at experience.byu.edu.
- After the application has been approved by the internship office, register for DES 496R: Academic Internship or INDES 399R (if you are an Industrial Design BFA student). Credits are variable, but a minimum of one credit is required.
- Award amounts are based on anticipated living expenses and student financial need. The department uses the FAFSA score calculated by the Scholarship office to determine financial need. Students on academic probation are not eligible to receive awards.
Deadline

Internship Scholarship applications are open year round. However the scholarship application must be submitted prior to the start of the internship.
In order to ensure that the time you invest in writing your application is not lost, we encourage you to write your responses to the questions in a separate file and then paste them into the appropriate fields. Once your application is submitted, changes cannot be made. A confirmation email will be sent with a PDF copy of your completed application.
