Register for the City of Ventura's

    Community Cleanup & Recycling Day!

City of Ventura residents are invited to drop off their unwanted items for proper disposal or recycling at this collection event. In order to keep the event running smoothly, we ask that you please arrive at the time that you select below. Residents that show up before or after hours of operation will kindly be turned away. Please respect that this event is for City of Ventura residents only.

This event takes place at 765 S Seaward Avenue in Ventura (corner of Seaward and Alessandro, west and downhill from the Mobil gas station.)

Materials accepted include but are not limited to:

Appliances, clothing, furniture, mattresses, metal, green waste, wood, and electronic waste.

    Tires:

Tires will not be accepted at the same event location. City of Ventura residents can drop off their unwanted tires (limit 4 tires per household) at Avenue Tire at 617 N Ventura Ave on Saturday, February 4th between 8:30am -12pm. Proof of Ventura residency is required. Extra large tires will not be accepted.

    Document Shred Services:

Secure onsite document shred service will be available for non-business use. Limit 2 banker-sized file boxes per household.

Please note, document shred services will be available in a limited capacity. Once the shred truck is full, we will not accept any further documents for shredding. It is recommended that residents interested in document shred services sign up for an early registration time.

Items that are NOT accepted include:

All Household Hazardous Wastes such as: aerosol cans, adhesives, batteries, compressed gas or propane tanks, fire extinguishers, fluorescent tubes and bulbs, fuel additives, gasoline, household cleaners, medical sharps, medications, mercury products, motor oil and filters, paint, polishes, varnishes, paint-related materials, pesticides, pool chemicals, turpentine, transmission fluid, and thermometers, and smoke detectors.

For more information about Household Hazardous Waste, visit our webpage.

    Please note:

Attendees will be required to show proof of residency (govermnet I.D. or utility bill) and proof of event registration. This can be done through their car window in order to minimize interaction between staff and attendees. Please print out, take a screenshot of, or take a photo of your registration once completed. If you are unable to do those things, we can crosscheck your registration at the event check-in booth.

Face coverings over the mouth and nose are recommended when interacting with staff and in the material offload zone.

The dumpsters will be categorized according to how the materials will be disposed. There will be one dumpster each for the following materials: Green Waste, Metal, Recycling, Electronics, Bulky Items (large pieces of furniture) and all other materials will go in the bin designated for Trash.

There will be some staff available to assist those that are unable to offload themselves, though we ask that everyone come prepared to offload their own materials as much as they are able.

We recommend wearing closed-toed shoes and gloves, if possible.

We appreciate your patience as we work out the best flow and safety practices for this event going forward.
