• 2023 Chick Days at The Mill in Germansville

    Chicks are available on a first come first serve basis. The sooner your order is submitted the more likely you are to get the breeds you want. Chicks must be picked up on the dates listed. Birds not picked up by the Saturday of the week you ordered for will be available to the public to purchase the following Tuesday. There will be very limited extras this year but we cannot guarantee what they will be. Please be prepared to pick up when we call, text or email you. We will contact you between 10am-12pm on the Friday of pick-up and you will have until Saturday at 2pm to pickup your chicks or make other plans with us for your chicks. We will contact you by text and email. By law we need to have all the information below (full name, full address and phone number) to sell you chicks. You will not receive your chicks until we have all the information listed. There is a section for each delivery date and/or species. PLEASE pay attention to dates!! Please DO NOT pay in advance, pay upon pick up! When you arrive to pick up please get your chicks from the chick barn first and then pay in the office.

  • This year there is a mandatory $10 deposit to submit your form! This is to make the entire process seemless for you and the store! You will get this credited back to you when you pick up your chicks. You can still change your order, add or take off chicks an unlimited amount of times up until a week before the order is due to come. If you pick up on time (on the Friday or Saturday the chicks you ordered are due in) you will get this credited to your chick cost. If you do not pick up on time or cancel your order entirely you will not get this deposit back. 

  • Sexing of chicks is done by the hatchery. For chicks ordered as females, they guarantee 80% to be females. There is the chance that you may get a rooster. Chicks marked as "Straight Run" (SR) are males & females together with no guarantee. No guarantee is made on live chicks once the chicks leave the store. Prices and availabilty subject to change at any time. We base everything off what the hatcheries do and we will always keep you in the loop!

  • Meat Birds Pick Up 4/21-4/22

    These chicks & poults are straight run. Fast Growing Broilers are Cornish Crosses. They are fast-growing meat birds that exceed many performance standards. Ready for processing in only 6.5 to 8 weeks, our Cornish Crosses are feed-efficient, robust performers. Our Freedom Ranger broiler chickens are great alternatives to fast-growing white broiler chicks and slow-growing heritage breeds. These active, robust chickens are suitable for free-ranging, foraging, and pasturing. They like to spend the day scratching and dust-bathing in the sunlight. Freedom Ranger chickens produce tender, succulent meat with high levels of omega 3 fats and low levels of saturated fat. Our Meat Turkeys cannot naturally reproduce and depending on your preferances are ready to butcher at 15-17 Weeks. These cannot be kept as pets.     Chicks marked as "Straight Run" (SR) are males & females together with no guarantee on sex. All Polish are Straight Run. They have a cute little puff on their head and are quite popular, laying a decent amount of tinted eggs for their size. Place number you would like to order below chick breed. Vaccinated for Mareks.

  • Ducklings Pick Up 5/5-5/6

    Who doesn't need some cute little ducks running around?? They are super fun to watch! They love eating insects too! You do not need a pond to have ducks, although they do love water they are content with a kiddie pool! Ducks lay eggs that are wonderful for baking. Duck eggs have a larger yolk which gives any batter a fluffier consistency. Their eggs have more fat in them which lends to a richer baked good. There is more vitamin D in their eggs as well as a good amount of omega 3s. Ducks have good production of eggs for a longer period of time then chickens do. They are a great addition to any flock.   • Straight Run Goslings Pick Up 5/5-5/6

    These guys are great watchdogs for your flock and home. They will let you know with a loud honk if anything is out of place. They will not allow any predators near your flock. They are intelligent. They lay big eggs with thick yolks, great for baking because the big yolks hold the batter together, make the batter fluffier and give it a rich color. People pay top dollar for goose eggs! Despite their reputation to be mean, they easily bond to their caregiver if hand raised and become a fun and docile addition to any flock.     All Turkey Poults are straight run. Heritage Breeds will have the ability to reproduce naturally. If raised with good socialization they can easily become one of your favorite members of your flock. Place number you would like to order below poult breed.

  • Assorted Guinea Keets Pick Up 5/12-5/13

    No insects (ticks included) will get past these guys. They will also let you know if anything is different in their surroundings ie person, predator or animal. They are the cheapest security guards for your home and flock. They have a very distinctive and loud call! If you are looking to get a certain color we suggest you plan on heading over as soon as you receive notification that they are ready. Place number you would like to order below.
