    SCHOLARSHIPS OPEN TO CALVERT COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOL STUDENTS
  • BEFORE STARTING YOUR APPLICATION:

    We strongly recommend that applicants review scholarship provider eligibility requirements and gather required documentation before starting this application. 31 of 37 providers require essays which will need to be submitted with the application.     For the purposes of fairness and equal opportunity, the CLSA will not notify applicants of incomplete CLSA applications. Please use the Checklist of Required documents as your guide to completion. Review and re-read your CLSA form before you click SUBMIT.

    1. The CLSA Manager holds all applicant information confidentially and stores all applications on a secure server. Only Scholarship Provider(s) indicated on an individual’s application are provided with the student’s CLSA application.
    2. The CLSA Manager CANNOT ACCEPT APPLICATIONS THAT DO NOT MEET THE DEADLINE, NOR ACCEPT CORRECTIONS, ADDITIONAL MATERIAL, OR CHANGES OF ANY KIND, AFTER THE MARCH 3, 2023 DEADLINE.
    3. Email Address: REQUIRED as all correspondence will be directed to the email address you specify on the CLSA. Physical Mailing Addresses may be used by the individual Scholarship Provider.
    4. Ethnicity: Indicate your primary ethnic identification. This optional field is REQUIRED if you are applying for a scholarship that is ethnicity-specific.
       

     Checklist of Required Documents:
     

    Before starting your application, please gather and create a digital copy of the following documents for submission: (use the filename format 'firstname_lastname_document' ex. Jane_Doe_photo): 

    1. Please request One (1) electronic official High School Transcript and/or one (1) electronic official College Transcript from your school.
    2. SAT/ACT – Student may use a copy of the SAT/ACT official report sent with test scores or downloaded from www.collegeboard.org (there may be more than one SAT/ ACT Report)
    3. SAR – Student Aid Report from the processed 2023-2024 FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid @ www.fafsa.gov)
    4. Student Resume
    5. Two (2) letters of recommendation are required for the CLSA. Original, one each: an Academic Recommendation, and a Community Recommendation. 

    NOTE: There are additional documents required per the Scholarship Provider requirements. Applicants for the scholarships specified below must provide this information to be eligible, however all applicants are encouraged to upload the following:

    1. College acceptance letters: Upload a copy of a college acceptance letter in Section III, if you are applying to the scholarships offered by the following providers:

    • American Legion Auxiliary Unit #274
    • Concerned Black Women of Calvert County 
    • Southern Maryland Chain (MD) Chapter, The Links Incorporated

    2. Wallet Photo: Upload a wallet size photo (format .jpg, .jpeg .png) in Section I.

     3. Essays: 31 of the 37 scholarship providers require an essay as part of the application.  PLEASE VERIFY eligibility and essay requirements for scholarship consideration, before starting the application. Essays are required at the time of submission. Upload a digital copy of essays in Section VII of this application.

    *Two (2) letters of recommendation are required for the CLSA, one from an Academic Reference and one from a Community Reference. Students should ask two individuals who have worked with, taught, mentored, coached the student to write a letter of recommendation that will attest to the student’s character, achievement, and future success.
