Volunteer Levels of Participation:

Trainer: (An interview is required to be a member of our Training Staff! Must be 18 or older.)

Duties might include: Lesson Instructor, Lesson Assistant, Working with and exercising dogs.

Groomer: (18 and older unless supervised by a parent)

Duties might include: Cleaning, School Chores (light duty), bathing, drying, and brushing dogs. Trimming nails. Brushing Teeth, walks.

Office Hero:

Duties might include: Administrative Assistance (your home, office, or ours!), Social Media, Grant Writing, Fund Raisers Planning/Staffing, Special Event Planning and/or Staffing, Event Photographer, Food & Beverage coordinator, and other tasks!

Dog Walker: (must be 12 or older. If under 18, must have written and in person permission from a parent or legal guardian.)

Duties might include: walking dogs in public, assisting dogs onto the treadmill, identifying various types of collars, harnesses, leashes, and training tools.

Rescue Worker: must be 16 or older. If under 18 must have written and in-person permission from a parent or legal guardian.

Duties might include: Administrative Assistance (your home, office, or ours!), Social Media, cleaning kennels, cleaning training tools, leashes, collers, dog bowls, harnesses, disinfecting, feeding dogs living at the school for training. Transportation of animals from time to time, calling or visiting rescues and shelters looking for matches for Kooper's Legacy applicants.

Vet Tech/Medical Assistant: must be over 18

Duties might include: administering oral medications, proper dosing, keeping records of medications and preventatives given to each dog. Ear cleaning. Eye cleaning. Examining minor issues. Depending on level of knowledge: Administering IM medications, taking pulse and examining airway sounds with stethoscope. Calculating correct dosing and keeping detailed records.
