Please attach photos of your property, shelter, fencing and current horses, donkey, or mule etc. We will begin to review your application once receive your VCPR or veterinary reference letter, along with a completed Adoption Application (all questions answered and all photos requested attached). If we do not receive these items, we will not be able to further review your application. We do not provide adoption services to first time horse owners due to the level of care that most rescues horses require and may not be suitable for a new horse owner. We aim to provide the proper placement of all Tiny Acres horses into horse knowledgable homes. All equine are adopted to “Caregivers” while Tiny Acres NWFL retains full ownership of the equine during the adoption. The adopter “Caregiver” is responsible for all care expenses including veterinary, farrier, and feed/forage for the adopted equine.
Please allow 2 business days to receive communication from our team after a complete review of your completed application, to include the Veterinary Reference Letter or potential Large Animal Veterinarian, has been conducted.
Once you have received an Approved Application from Tiny Acres, which includes the site check, you, the adopter, agree to take responsibility of the approved equine into your care within 2 weeks of approval unless other arrangements or dates have been discussed and approved by a Tiny Acres board member.
*Barbed wire fencing is not safe or sufficient for horses and therefore will not be an acceptable fencing option for any potential adopters. Hot wire, hot tape, or hot poly wire are not sufficient for boundary fencing therefore will not be an acceptable fencing option for any potential adopters. Three board wood fencing and woven fencing (field fence) are both acceptable and suitable for horse enclosure/pastures. Each adopted equine will come with a current Coggins and all health records. Upon pick up of your adopted equine, you will need a halter and lead rope as one will not be provided to the adopter. If you do not have a halter or lead rope at the time of the pickup, we will require a $40 nonrefundable fee that will provide you with the adopted horses current halter and lead rope. This fee is to ensure that we are able to purchase another set for our rescue to keep on hand and utilize with any other horse in need. You will not be able to leave the premises with the adopted equine without both a halter and lead rope for safety and security purposes. *Health Certificates are not required for Florida equine adoptions or Florida travel in state. If a health certificate is required for boarding, transportation or any other personal reasons, all associated fees for Tiny Acres NWFL, Inc to acquire said health certificate, to include a special farm call fee will be at the adopter's expense. *If transportation is required for your adopted equine, all associated costs fall under the responsibility of the adopter. *We do provide transporting services, as availability permits within a 60 (sixty) mile radius at the national average transporting costs of $2.55 per mile to include round trip.
