  • Hawai'i AcroFest 2023 Headline Teacher Application

    Join our Team of Teacher Leaders that will host a number of special Acro workshops, classes, and activities for Hi.AF at Kalani Retreat Center. Our Core Crew of Headline Teachers will host 2-4 workshops daily and be responsible for organizing the event schedule amongst the teacher team. Housing + Meals will be provided as well as free entry. ($1200 value). This is a non-paid position so please plan accordingly! Limited Spaces available. Mahalo!

    List your teaching partner that will be joining you a the festival. If none, skip. If more than one, please select your most comfortable teacher to work with and send an Email to Hi.Acrofest@gmail.com listing all your parters names who are also applying. 

  • ROLES DURING FESTIVAL

    Responsibilities include:

    Creating Festival Class Programming (assiting with the festival class schedule creation with guidance/outlines provided by Hi.AF)

    Coordinating Class Scheduling with other Teachers 

    Creating Class Plans, Safety Procedures & Facilitating Discussions, Checking Students Pre-Req’s, Monitoring Progress, Celebrating Success, etc.

    Teaching Actively during the event (2-4 classes per day)

    Be a Main Point of Contact for Communications with Teachers, including the Guest Teachers, Prior & During the Event to relay neccessary info and class schedules

    Being A part of our Hawai’i AcroFest Family, eager to participate and connect within our crew!

  • FESTIVAL AVAILABILITY + PLANS

    Set Up Will be two full days PRE festival.

    July 25th (Set Up Day 1)

    July 26th (Set Up Daye 2 + Headline Teacher Orientation)

     

    The Event is 3 days

    (July 27th-29th)

     

    AFTER THE FESTIVAL:

    July 29th (BreakDown Starts after music ends at 10pm)

    July 30th (Break Down continues + loose ends finished up)

    July 30th - Sunday is Kalani's World Famouse E-dance Party, which you are invited to attend for free.

    We will Dance from 11a-3p + have the rest of the day to Acro Jam, Drum Circle, Volcanic Hot Springs, + Black Sand Beach Hangs. I reccommend you plan to stay Sunday Night to get a bonus day of fun. Accommodation is included for Headline Teachers. Not Included for Guest Teachers.

    NOTE: It is advised & preferred that teachers & crew plan to arrive at least 1 day prior to the event start for set up and crew orientations and can also stay to assist with break down after the event.

    Consider Sunday a "Bonus" Day, and think about that when you book your flights. Reccommedned to fly out Monday Afternoon. Mahalo!

  • Our Schedule will feature a combonation of class lengths. Please select the time lengths that you would be comfortable filling. We will likely ask each teacher prepare at least one longer class/intensive. TBD as we get teacher info :)

  • Hi.AF TEACHER TERMS AND CONDITIONS

     

    1. I agree to be present to my classes/shifts on time, and to advise Hawai'i AcroFest staff well in advance if my availability for rostered shifts changes. 
    2. I agree to be present to orientations 10 minutes before the scheduled staff so as to be informed of particulars of the role and the venue.
    3. I will not turn up to a rostered shift under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
    4. I agree to advise Hawai'i Acro Festival staff if I am unable or uncomfortable to complete tasks that have been assigned to. We will be understanding of these requests, just give us as much notice as possible.
    5. I agree to inform Hi.AF staff immediately of any injuries sustained while undertaking volunteering or teaching activities by myself or any guests in my presence.
    6. As a member of the Hawai'i Acro Festival team, I will do my best to provide correct information and a positive attitude to all members of the public I deal with throughout the festival.
    7. I agree to work in a constructive and cooperative way with Hi.AF staff and comply with any safety procedures as requested.
    8. I understand that if I am unable to complete my allocated shifts, I may be asked to return my Wrist Band or forfeit housing & meals to fill the space with another teacher.
    9. I understand that I am volunteering my services to Hi.AF and will not receive any remuneration for my services.
    10. I understand that in exchanage for my teaching servies, Hi.AF agrees to cover my accommodations & meals during the event. Airfare, ground transportation, and any add ons or additional expenses I incurr are not covered by Hi.AF and are my own responsibilty to arrange in advance.
