  • UDST Student Council (SC) will be electing the 4th Council of UDST in September 2025. Students who are interested in being student representatives are encouraged to submit their applications via the link by filling out the form below. The College places importance on student input and participation as part of everything we do at our institution, from Student Life activities to committee representation and every point in between.

    Available Positions

    1. Student Council President
    2. Student Council Vice President
    3. Business Management Representatives (2)
    4. Computing and Information Technology Representatives (2)
    5. Engineering Technology Representatives (2)
    6. Health Sciences Representatives (2)

    The Student Council is:

    • A form of student governance, where interested members are elected by fellow students.
    • A collaborative forum advancing the interests and serving as the voice of the University’s Students.
    • A consultative body to the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs on matters impacting Students.


    The Student Council will:

    • Advance the goals and objectives of Student Affairs with the University’s Students.
    • Serve as the link between Students and the Colleges they serve.
    • Provide Students the opportunity to be part of the decision-making process.
    • Sponsor activities and events that expand Student’s co-curricular opportunities.
    • Incorporate elements of service learning into their service activities.
    • Work to make every student feel welcome and a part of University life.

  • Student Council President

    • Representative of the Student Council.

    • Responsible for communicating all Student Council and its related business.

    • Responsible for setting the agenda and chairing all Student Council meetings.

    • Serves on University committees.

    • Represents the Student Council in meetings/communication with Student Councils at other post-secondary institutions.

    • Meets regularly to update the Vice President for Student Affairs on Student Council matters.
  • Student Council Vice President

    • Assists the Student Council President.

    • Acts on the Student Council President’s behalf in his/her absence, or in the event that the office becomes vacant.

    • Responsible for the internal operations of the Student Council.

    • Ensures Student Council meeting minutes are written and communicated.

    • Plans the Student Council Annual General Assembly.

    • Schedules Student Council meetings.
  • Representatives

    • Serve as a link between the Student Council and the leadership of each college.

    • Represents their program on the Student Council and keeps the Student Council updated on all events and activities within the college.

    • Is an active participant in School functions and initiatives.

    • Provides information and maintains communication between the Student Council and Students within their program.

  • Election – Rules of Eligibility

    1. All candidates must be full-time students at the University.

    2. All candidates must have a minimum 2.5 GPA.

    3. Any student on academic, social, or disciplinary probation is​ ​not eligible to run for elected office. Also, in-office students are ineligible to maintain the position if found to be on probation.

    4. The Student Life and Services office MUST approve all campaigning information posted on University's social media accounts.

    5. Members must submit a photo to be included in an election communication to all students. Females may be permitted exemptions based on cultural grounds.

    6. Failure to meet any of the guidelines mentioned above may result in ineligibility for office and immediate removal from the election process.
