The Miss Minnesota Northern Lights Princess Program is designed to introduce young ladies, ages 5 through 12, to the Miss Minnesota and Miss America program before they reach competition age. The mentorship program allows them to understand that Miss America is not just a dream, but something they can begin preparing for at a young age. It allows them to work closely with the Miss Minnesota candidates who will serve as their role models and mentors through community service. 

    Miss Minnesota Northern Lights Princess Official Application   

To become a participant in the Northern Lights Princess Program, the following steps must be completed. 

• Fill out the Application Form
• Fill out the Health Form
• Photo Release Agreement
• Statement of Understanding
• Hold Harmless Agreement
• AFTER MARCH 15Th - Completed forms with the $300.00 for NEW Princess and $200.00 returning Princess registration fee

The NEW PRINCESS registration fee includes:

• 1 Ticket for Princess to attend Miss Minnesota's Teen Finals March 25, 2023 (if registered before this date)
• 1 Ticket for Princess to attend Miss Minnesota Preliminary Thursday, June 22, 2023
• 1 Ticket for Princess to attend Miss Minnesota Finals Friday, June 23, 2023
• Princesses will be showcased on both the Miss MNOT and Miss Minnesota stages
• Princess Event- **More Information Coming Soon** on Wednesday, June 21, 2023
• Official Princess Crown and Miss Northern Lights Sash

The RETURNING PRINCESS registration fee includes:

          PHOTO/VIDEO RELEASE AGREEMENT       

I hereby grant to the Miss Minnesota Scholarship Organization and to its agents, the right to photograph/video my daughter and use the photo/video and or other digital reproduction of her or other reproduction of her physical likeness for publication processes, whether electronic, print, digital or electronic publishing via the Internet. 

 

I certify that I am the custodial parent and have the aforementioned rights to sign. 

                HEALTH INFORMATION FORM            

 

If princess is required to take daily medication, parents will be responsible for providing and administering any and all health care needs. 

 

 

           STATEMENT OF UNDERSTANDING          

We will ensure that our daughter will conduct herself in a proper manner at all times. We understand that this is NOT a competition, but a mentoring and learning process conducted by the Miss Minnesota Scholarship Organization and agree to all decisions made by the Miss Minnesota Scholarship Organization Board of Directors relative to the Northern Lights Princess Program. 

Transportation, Housing & Meals

We (parents/guardians) further understand that we will furnish transportation, meals, and housing while participating in the Miss Minnesota Northern Lights Princess Program. All Northern Lights Princesses and their families are responsible for their own housing and meals during the Miss Minnesota's Teen and Miss Minnesota Competitions.

       NORTHERN LIGHTS PRINCESS PROGRAM GUIDELINES     

Who can be a Princess?

Any young lady who is at least 5 years of age and no older than 12 by the date of June 1, 2023, is eligible to enter.

Applications

It is the responsibility of the princess' parents/guardians to make sure that applications and other paperwork are completed appropriately and in a timely manner. The $300 registration fee (for first-time princesses) or $200 registration fee (for returning princesses) may be paid by the supporting local competition, the Princess's family or the applicant can get sponsorship from businesses, family, and/or friends.

Official Princess Crown

The Official Crown will be provided to each Princess, with the exception of returning princesses who already have the crown. The crown is not a toy and should be handled with care. It should not be worn except on official appearances as a Minnesota Northern Lights Princess. If the crown is broken, replacement crowns can be purchased for $75.

 Photos

Parents are required to upload one (1) COLOR headshot, preferably a high-resolution photo. Be sure your daughter's face is well-lit. Photos should be head and shoulders only and MUST be sent with an application.

When submitting your completed application- ALL application paperwork, photo, birth certificate, and fees paid in full must be uploaded online at the same time in order for the application to be accepted.

                       HOLD HARMLESS AGREEMENT                   

Acknowledge (by the witness of their signature below) her application to participate in The Miss Minnesota Northern Lights Princess Program on Saturday, March 25, 2023, at Southwest Christian School in Chaska, MN, and Wednesday, June 21, Thursday, June 22, and Friday, June 23, 2023, at Treasure Island Resort & Casino, Welch, MN, and other locations used for appearances of Miss Minnesota Northern Lights Princesses. As part of her participation in this event, it is the Miss Minnesota Northern Lights Princesses' responsibility to confine and amends her performance to adapt to the constraints of the production requirements. The Miss Minnesota Northern Lights Princess hereby agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the Miss Minnesota Scholarship Organization, the Competition Committee, and any other entities which might be construed as liable from and against any and all claims for personal injuries, death, damages, cost, and/or other expenses including reasonable attorney's fees arising from or in any way connected with the use of the premises, and Princess does hereby waive any right of recovery against The Miss Minnesota Scholarship Organization, the Competition Committee and any other entities which might be construed as being responsible for loss, damage, theft of equipment, stock-in-trade, personal property, etc. This agreement is subject to termination by the Miss Minnesota Scholarship Organization without advance notice or penalty at any time. This agreement is personal to the Princess and may not be transferred or assigned. It is understood that this agreement is for one year only. 

In witness whereof, this agreement has been executed as the date indicated below. 

Confirmation

BY ACKNOWLEDGING AND SIGNING BELOW, I AM DELIVERING AN ELECTRONIC SIGNATURE THAT WILL HAVE THE SAME EFFECT AS AN ORIGINAL MANUAL PAPER SIGNATURE. THE ELECTRONIC SIGNATURE WILL BE EQUALLY AS BINDING AS AN ORIGINAL MANUAL PAPER SIGNATURE.
