Mason Summer Band Camp Placement Video Submission Form

Submission Deadline: June 1, 2026

Mason Summer Band Camp will use the following placement video submission to determine seating order and part assignments for large ensembles . In addition to completing this form, all students must also register for the Band Camp program through the website. 

All registered students must complete the form below and prepare the following placement materials in one recorded video. 

Students must submit the following materials for ensemble seating placement. In your recording, please make sure each student's face and hands are visible at all times.

All requirements should be compiled and submitted in ONE video file.

Requirement #1

• ALL STUDENTS: Please submit an excerpt that best demonstrates your ability (no longer than 5 minutes). 

Requirement #2

Please submit the following scales:

• For Jr. High Students: 1 Octave Concert B-flat Major scale and 1 Octave chromatic scale, if possible.
• For Sr. High Students: 2 Octave Concert B-Flat Major Scale and 2 octave chromatic scale.
• For Jr. High Percussionists :
  • 1 Octave Concert B-Flat Scale on a keyboard (mallet) instrument of your choice
  • A short piece or excerpt on snare drum (part of a band piece, short solo, etc.)
• For Sr. High Percussionists :
  • 2 Octave Concert B-Flat Scale on a keyboard (mallet) instrument of your choice
  • A short piece or excerpt on snare drum (part of a band piece, short solo, etc.)
  • Optional: A short excerpt on an additional percussion instrument
    
    

Requirement #3 (Composition Private Lesson Students ONLY)

• Upload a sample of an original piece. PDF scores or MIDI files accepted.

Video Upload Guidelines

Placement videos should be submitted as ONE video file. Videos can be submitted below as an unlisted YouTube video link or a Google Drive link with sharing permissions set to anyone can view. Please make sure your video link is accessible before submitting.
