• Application for Art Installation

    We are seeking art installation with the following criteria

  • -Designs that interact with the viewer

    -Installations that focus on light and design

    -Installations that provoke conversation

    -Sustainable methods and materials

    -Structurally sound

    -Art that is designed for the rugged west coast in all its forms

     

  • IMPORTANT INFORMATION

    Submissions will be reviewed until March 30th. Applicants will be notified by April 15th.

    Art Installation crews can enter the site on Wednesday and are required to be set up by 12 pm on Thursday. Art Installations must be removed by 5 pm on Monday postshow.

    Art installation crews are expected to ensure that their installation remains safe, secure, and functioning well throughout the entirety of the festival. Pachena Bay Music Festival is not liable for any damaged art installations.

    The exhibit will expand across the entire festival grounds which includes the forest or the beach above high tide line, and campground. Pachena Music Festival will decide on the location of art and artists are expected to comply with the location awarded to them.

    July 12, 2023- Art Installation participants arrive on site

    July 13, 2023- Installation must be complete by 12 pm 

    July 17, 2023- Art Installation must be removed by 5 pm

     

  • Grant Amount*

    Below are the grants we are offering. They are a combination of tickets and money.

     

    Grants

    1. 2 Tickets into the festival ($630 value).

    2. 2 Tickets into the festival plus a financial grant up to $500

    3. 2 Tickets into the festival plus a financial grant up to $1000

    Pachena Bay Music Festival aims to partially cover the costs of creating each installation. Artists retain all ownership of the art and are free to exhibit at multiple events. Please consider all costs including transport to and from the site & storage in your budget. Well-thought-out budgets are mandatory requirements for all successful applications. There will not be any last-minute grants awarded to teams who have not budgeted properly.

  • Power Plan**

    Does your installation require power? If so, please describe your power needs. Please be very specific. List all the items that draw power during the show. Do you need power for set up and tear down?

    Main hubs will be set up in the forest. Each installation will be required to dig their own trench a minimum of 10 inches deep to that power hub and lay your power cords into the trench. You are responsible for having enough power cable to reach an outlet. Installations maybe 20 to 30 feet away from power hub.

  • High Wind and Rain Plan

    Pachena Bay can be full-sun, torrential rain, thunderstorms, or very high winds. You must ensure that your piece is properly anchored and withstand high winds. Your piece must also be water-resistant. Do any parts of it act as a sail? Will rain damage it? Describe your plan for high winds and rain.

  • Art installations are required to be safe. Does your art have sharp corners or items that extrude at eye level. Remember the exhibit is busy during the day and night. 

    If your art is going to be hung in the air or shackled to the ground, it must be SECURE. If your art is airborne, you may require a rigger on your team. If it is grounded and could be a hazard by falling over or getting caught in the wind, get rebar stakes. 

    The art installation presenters and crew are responsible for mitigating anticipated safety concerns before applying and or arriving on site. However please notify the art rant curation team should any unexpected safety concerns arise during setup or throughout the festival, we will do our best to assist you but cannot guarantee a solution to the issue.

     Once your artwork is installed on site, a safety check will be conducted. If there are safety issues we will ask you to address them. Pachena Bay music festival reserves the right to remove or take down any art that is a safety concern and the grant will be revoked.
