Please complete this form to begin the process of obtaining a ServSafe® certification. After submission, Will Slattery, Operations Specialist, will follow up within 72 hours to confirm pricing and next steps. Costs for all programs are listed on our website.
We offer two types of certification:
ServSafe® Food Handler Program
Recommended for kitchen staff, this course takes approximately 60–90 minutes to complete and with a 40-question exam that includes five sections:
- Basic Food Safety
- Personal Hygiene
- Cross-contamination and Allergens
- Time and Temperature
- Cleaning and Sanitation
ServSafe® Food Protection Manager Program
Recommended for head chefs and kitchen managers, this more comprehensive program includes approximately 6 hours of course materials followed by a 90-question certification exam. Topics covered include:
- The Importance of Food Safety
- Good Personal Hygiene
- Time and Temperature Control
- Preventing Cross-Contamination
- Cleaning and Sanitizing
- Safe Food Preparation
- Receiving and Storing Food
- Methods of Thawing, Cooking, Cooling, and Reheating Food
- HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points)
- Food Safety Regulations
Training & Exam Format Options:
We offer flexible options for both certification programs:
- Online course and exam (Food Handler or Manager)
- In-person at the Vermont Chamber of Commerce (Food Handler or Manager)
- In-person at your business (minimum of 10 participants; Food Handler or Manager)
- In-person review and exam (Manager only)
