  • We are looking for friendly and outgoing employees to join our team as Bike Sales Associates in our Boise store. We are seeking employees who are committed to providing our customers with a positive bike buying experience. Al's works with the best brands in the industry including Trek, Specialized, Scott, and many more.

    The ideal candidate is eager to share their passion for cycling and is dedicated to providing exceptional customer service and displays a positive attitude when interacting with customers and employees.     Key Responsibilities

    • Provides a positive customer experience with fair, friendly, and courteous service.
    • Familiarize yourself with merchandise to provide quick and accurate product information.
    • Resolves customer issues and answers questions.
    • Registers sales on a cash register by scanning items, itemizing, and totaling customers’ purchases.
    • Collects payments by accepting cash, or charge payments from customers and makes change for cash customers.
    • Balances cash drawer by counting cash at the beginning and end of the work shift.
    • Provides pricing information by answering questions.
    • Maintains checkout operations by following policies and procedures and reporting needed changes.
    • Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
    • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related responsibilities as needed.

    Qualifications

    Required

    • Previous retail or sales experience preferred, especially in sporting goods or bicycles.
    • Passion for cycling with knowledge of bikes, components, accessories, and industry trends.
    • Avid cyclist or strong familiarity with the cycling industry is a plus.
    • Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills; able to approach customers and initiate conversations.
    • Ability to explain technical features in an easy-to-understand way.
    • Well-developed organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
    • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with a sense of urgency and a positive attitude.
    • Basic mechanical knowledge of bikes (tune-ups, adjustments) preferred but not required.
    • Proficient with point-of-sale systems and accurate transaction handling.
    • Able to maintain cleanliness and safety of the sales floor.
    • Capable of lifting/moving bikes up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods.
    • Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays.

    • What is the schedule for this job? 
    • This position can be either full-time or part-time and requires availability Monday through Saturday. Shifts rotate between opening and closing, with general availability needed between 8:00 AM and 9:00 PM. Saturdays are worked on a rotating basis. Saturday and holiday availability is required.

    • What is the pay for this job? 
    • Ranging from $16-$18 per hour, depending on experience.
