  • Since 1993, Leadership TriCounty has been introducing its class members to major facets of the tri-county community through a comprehensive ten-month course.  Founded by the TriCounty Area Chamber of Commerce, each Leadership TriCounty Class is comprised of no more than twenty-five individuals who have been selected for their potential to expand their involvement in the development of the tri-county area. Each member has made a demonstrated commitment to leadership in both their community and place of employment. These individuals represent business and industry, government, the arts, volunteer and social organizations, education, professional groups, labor, hospitals, and utilities.

    Please provide one letter of recommendation from your Work Sponsor. This recommendation can be from your CEO or from your immediate supervisor, if applicable. If you are a sole proprietor or community member, please provide one letter of recommendation from the volunteer/community organizations you are apart of.

    PROGRAM SCHEDULE

    The Leadership TriCounty year begins in September and concludes in June. These sessions are a full day from 8AM - 5PM; occuring one day per month. Sessions will include briefings, tours, seminars and hands-on learning. The Leadership TriCounty program agendas bring in top-level business, civic and government leaders for discussion, education and question and answer sessions. Leadership TriCounty is committed to having a diverse and dynamic class.

  • Rules of Conduct & Personal Commitment:

    1.       ATTENDANCE

    Attendance at all Program Days is expected.  Those who miss more than two program days will be dropped without a refund of tuition and sponsors will be notified.  Typical program days run from 8 AM - 5 PM.  Missing a half day is considered a full day of absence.  All absences require notification prior to the program date.

    Punctuality is critical and expected as you will be required to utilize the transportation provided for each program day.  The class will operate according to each day’s agenda.  Late arrival or early departures are not accepted but if there are extenuating circumstances, you must get approval from Leadership TriCounty Director, Jenna Armato.  You will be provided with contact information for this purpose.

    Participant takes full responsibility to be engaged and participate in the program and opportunities fully. 

     

    2.       PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS

    Participation in group class assignments is to be expected. Time for planning and implementing these projects will not be a regular part of the monthly sessions.

    Participant agrees to attend one municipal meeting, one school board meeting, and one local cultural event during the ten-month period. These activities will fall outside of the normal class schedule.

    Participant agrees to seek out a tri-county area non-profit organization of their choice and accept a volunteer position on the organization’s Board of Directors, or committee upon graduation from Leadership TriCounty in June of 2024.

     

    3.       DRUG-FREE ENVIRONMENT

    As a program of the TriCounty Area Chamber of Commerce, Leadership TriCounty adheres to a drug and alcohol-free policy during working program hours.  It is Leadership TriCounty’s obligation to provide a drug-free, safe and secure work environment for program participants.   

     

    4.       CELL PHONE USAGE

    Please turn cell phones and other electronic devices OFF or on silent during working program hours.  Electronic devices may be used during scheduled breaks which are noted on the agenda for each program day. 

     

    5.       DRESS CODE

    Classmates will abide by a business casual dress code for all sessions – no jeans or sneakers, unless otherwise advised.

     

    6.       RESPECT FOR GUESTS

    Each program day will include guest speakers.  Please demonstrate respect for these guests and your fellow classmates by being attentive, courteous, and engaged.

     

    7.       CONFIDENTIALITY

    The Class may discuss topics of a sensitive nature throughout the program year.  Please respect your classmates and others by maintaining confidentiality within the class.  This is a long-standing rule with Leadership TriCounty.

     

    I understand the commitment to the Leadership TriCounty program and agree to abide by the rules of conduct & commitment above, as well as all other program requirements.  I will devote the required time and pay my tuition as stated in this application.  I further understand Leadership TriCounty extends beyond the ten-month program to a lifetime of opportunity for involvement, including joining Leadership TriCounty Alumni and supporting their work.  I agree to be bound by these commitments by signing this application.

  • Tuition Commitment:

    Full tuition is $2,500. Due to fixed costs, tuition is not refundable should a particpant withdraw at any time during the course.

    A minimum $500 non-refundable deposit is required within ten (10) days of your application being submitted.

    Remaining tuition is due on or before August 22, 2023 and may be made via credit card or check payable to the TriCounty Area Chamber of Commerce Foundation, Inc.  Payment plan options are available, if needed.
