Wacholtz Rural Ministry Grant Application

The Wacholtz Rural Ministry Scholarship is to equip those seminary students who are discerning a call to ministry in rural communities. It is intended for tuition only, and therefore a recipient of this scholarship cannot be receiving another full-tuition scholarship through the ELCA Fund for Leaders or seminary financial aid. Applicants must also disclose whether other grants received are tuition restricted.
Candidates are eligible to apply if they:
- are enrolled at an ELCA seminary
- have received a position Entrance Decision through the candidacy process
- are pursuing either Word and Sacrament or Word and Service ministry in the ELCA
- will not be on a full-time internship during the upcoming year
Candidates may be engaged in either full-time or part-time seminary coursework.

In order to be considered for the scholarship for the upcoming school year, this application must be submitted by April 1.
