  • The basic terms and conditions of your employment are as set out in this Short-Term Contract of Employment

    for the Hyde Park at Winter Wonderland - 17th November 2022 - 2nd January 2023.

    Duration of Contract

    This is a Contract of Employment for agreed shifts at The North Star Bar and during the period 17th November 2022 and 2nd January 2023 as agreed per individual shift basis.

    Job Title and Flexibility

    You are employed as a Bar Manager.

    You are expected to perform all duties which may be required of you in this role and as set out in the attached Job Description. You must comply with all reasonable directions given to you and observe all the policies, procedures and rules of the Employer as may be introduced and/or amended from time to time.

    Place of Work

    Your place of work is Winter Wonderland at Hyde Park. This is a temporary bar and will only operate for the duration of the Winter Wonderland Hyde Park festival from the 17th November 2022 till the 2nd January 2023.

    Working Hours – Shift Basis

    Your normal working shift hours are from either 9.30am to 4.00pm or 3.45pm to 10.30pm. However, this may be adjusted and within reason to the needs of the bar trade and festival.

    You are entitled to one 20 minute break per six hours worked

    You are required to work reasonable such additional hours on your shift as may be necessary or appropriate from time to time to enable you to carry out your duties properly.

    The Employer reserves the right, if it reasonably requires increasing. reducing and/or otherwise varying or altering your hours or times of work to suit very clear and specific business needs.

    General Obligations during Employment

    During your normal working hours and at such other times as may reasonably be required of you, you shall devote the whole of your time, attention, skill and abilities to the performance of your duties under this Contract and shall act in the best interests of the Employer.

    You shall not, at any time, use, copy, disclose, communicate and/or publish or enable or cause any person to become aware of and/or use, copy, disclose, communicate and/or publish any confidential information which you receive or obtain during the course of or as a result of your employment with the Employer.

  • Remuneration

    Rate of Pay

    You are entitled to be paid at the rate of £15 per hour (or 15 min part thereof) less any deductions for National Insurance and Tax and will be paid within two weeks in arrears.
    The following dates are subject to the rate stated

    Christmas Eve - Saturday 24th December pay 1.5 times rate for that day

    Boxing Day - Monday 26th December pay 1.5 times rate for that day

    New Year's Eve - Saturday 31st December pay 1.5 times rate for that day

    New Year's Day - Sunday 1st January 2023 pay 1.5 times rate for that day

     

    Holidays and Holiday Pay

    Your pro-rata entitlement will be based on the 12 month or annual entitlement of 20 working days paid holiday in each year.

    All holiday pay will be calculated at your basic rate of pay and will be subject to normal deductions.


    Holiday pay will be calculated and paid with your last salary based on the total number of hours you have worked in calculating your entitlement to holiday.

    Health and Safety

    The Employer recognises that safe working practice is a joint concern for the Employer and its employees. The Employer is responsible for ensuring that working conditions conform to statutory requirements. To comply with these requirements there must be an acceptance on your part to act in a responsible manner and not to indulge in unsafe working practices.

    You are required at all times to observe and co-operate with safety procedures. You are required to familiarise yourself with the Health and Safety regulations in force and to ensure that at all times you take care not to endanger yourself or any other person. You are required at all times to observe the Health and Safety Policy of the Employer. A copy of the Policy is available from the Production Manager.

    Sickness Absence

    The Employer will operate on Statutory Sick Payment Regulations.

    Notice Period

    This Contract can be terminated by either party giving to the other not less than 3 days written notice.

    The Employer reserves the right to pay salary in lieu of notice.

    The Employer reserves the right to terminate your employment without notice or salary in lieu of notice in appropriate circumstances. Appropriate circumstances include, but are not limited to, situations of gross misconduct, gross incompetence and/or gross negligence.
