    • Classification
    • Public or Private?

Every organization described in section 501(c)(3) has a foundation classification. The two main classifications are public charity and private foundation. A public charity generally has a broad base of support, while a private foundation generally receives its support from a small number of donors. Your foundation classification is important because it determines which tax rules govern your operations and which limitations apply to your donors’ contributions.
    • All done!

That's it! You can review your form or click Submit, and a Consultant will contact you soon after! By clicking Submit, you agree to allow us to respond on your behalf to any State Corporations Division or the IRS regarding your application, application status, tax exempt status, and eligibility. Your consultant is not a lawyer and cannot offer you legal advice; they will make recommendations based on experience. If you should need the services of a nonprofit lawyer, please inform your consultant and they will do their best to accommodate you. Our Money Back Guarantee applies to this application. If your IRS application is denied and we cannot appeal it or the IRS deems you ineligible for 501(c)3 tax exempt recognition, we will refund your full fee. If your consultant feels your application is at risk of being denied, they will keep you informed and you'll make the final decision. Any decision made against the recommendation of your consultant waives our Money Back Guarantee and releases us from any liability. Don't worry, we'll be really adamant about whether we think we should continue! Let's do this!
