Event Hosted by Scout Troop 5338.
The scouts will be expected to sign-up prepared in Class A Uniform and have a signed blue to work on merit badge. If they provide their Scoutmaster name, I will try to link the scout to your name for the MB selected. Scouts do not need to print workbooks, but highly recommended. Scouts should have read about topics and have familiarity regardless of format selected. Scouts should have written notes on the topic to present to conselor. They should still explain, demonstrate, show etc. Notes are only an aid.
*Merit badge session: Merit badge topic should be reviewed in advance. Scouts should be familiar with the topic. Counselors will discuss topics in discussion format.
**Merit Badge Appointment: Scouts who have worked through merit badge pre-work to meet with counselors in group appointments. Scouts should be able to show knowledge on merit badge topics. Verbal participation is required to complete requirements.
*** Project Based Merit Badges. Hybrid format with consultation early in day and work time to prepare for appointment discussion and sign-off. Recommend having a merit badge book purchased for reference details for the project. Basketry has kits. The kits are at the Base Camp - Scout store and should be purchased prior to the event and brought to the merit badge hybrid meeting. Plan to meet with a counselor between 9:00-10:00 to cover any preliminary questions before the start of projects.
