• Hybrid Camp In Part B, 4/05/2023 OR 4/10/2023 via zoom AND 10/8/2022 in person

  • Course Description:  Camp In Part B authorizes you to take troops camping overnight in winterized buildings. Learn fire safety (preparation and extinguishing), fire building with girls, foil and stick cooking, safe use of charcoal, general safety precautions, and building cleanup. Camp In B is valid for five years or until you complete Camp Out or Outdoor Update, whichever comes first.

    This registration for is for a "Hybrid" Camp In Part B where the class is done via a combination of a virtual live webinar session of about 1.5 - 2 hours, some video-watching on your own, and an in-persion session of about 2 - 2.5 hours where you will cook a supper meal. 

    Details for this course are as follows:

    Virtual Session:  Choose from EITHER Wednesday, April 5 OR Monday, April 10, 2023 from 7pm-9pm Eastern
    In-person Session:  Saturday April 16, 2023 Eastern from 2:00 pm - 4:30 pm Eastern at Camp Shantituck, Pines Unit.   A meal is a part of this class. 

    Prerequisite: Camp In Part A. Camp In, including both Part A and Part B, is a class which authorizes GSK Volunteers to take girls camping in buildings.   

    Cost:  Fee for Camp In Part B (food and materials) is $8. Once completed, Camp In will authorize you to camp in buildings for five years.

  • At Camp In Part B, we typically cook a "foil" dinner where each participant makes her own foil packet with contents selected from a "buffet" of items. Typical things to choose from include ground hamburger, potatoes, onions, and vegetables such as broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, etc. We also usually have bread of some sort and s'mores (marshmallows, graham crackers, and chocolate). We choose this meal because most adults can be accommodated with their choice of these food items for their personal foil dinner. To help guide us in shopping for the right amounts, please indicate your food choices/needs below.

  • I understand I must attend both my choice of a virtual session and the "at camp" session, plus watch some videos on my own.  I also understand that my registration is not complete until I have paid the council for this class, using the registration link I will get after I submit this registration.
