The Governor’s Innovation in Safety Award is presented to an innovative work group to recognize a company that has developed and instituted an innovative method, design, tool, procedure, or concept of engineering that has significantly contributed to a positive impact on safety, thus improving health and quality of life and/or environmental protection in the workplace.
Innovation Definition
For the purpose of this award, “innovation” is broadly defined as a new initiative, idea, product, or solution to a specific Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) problem, thus improving health and the quality of life.
Eligibility
Award recipients may be a company, corporation, government entity, non-profit, or other organization. Organizations may submit nominations for smaller business units such as an operating unit, a division, a regional office, a department, etc., or on an organization-wide basis.
The State of Alaska will review the application and ensure the submitting company/organization is a good corporate citizen in regard to environmental rules, legal issues, wage and hour, safety, etc.
