The 2026 Recreation Awards are open for applications. They will be awarded on 19 November 2026 at the Recreation Leaders' Summit awards dinner in Tauranga. Nominations close 31 August at 5pm.

APPLICATION - It must have practical application to the recreation and leisure industry.
IMPACT - The actual and/or potential impact of the research/planning/policy.
INNOVATION - Degree of innovation or uniqueness.
COST/VALUE - How does the value of the work compare to the cost of carrying it out.
CASE STUDY - The ability to be used as a model or case study by other agencies.
