The 2026 Recreation Awards are open for applications. They will be awarded on 19 November 2026 at the Recreation Leaders' Summit awards dinner in Tauranga. Nominations close 31 August at 5pm.
This award recognises Recreation Aotearoa members who are regarded as having made a significant contribution to the purpose, aims and work of Recreation Aotearoa. This award calls for an outstanding and sustained contribution.

Evidence of landmark projects/initiatives the nominee has contributed to within their sector, region or wider industry.
Length of membership with Recreation Aotearoa or its predecessor organisations (minimum 10 years).
Five relevant qualifications, awards and recognition previously gained by nominee for service to the sector.
Evidence of examples of perceived mana within their sector or industry.
