Brewster Whitecaps Player's Registration Form
  • Player's Registration Form

Welcome to the Brewster Whitecaps. All players must submit this completed form. Without this vital information, you cannot be placed in housing, the medical team cannot treat you, and nobody will be able to contact you. You can save and return to finish at a later time. Thank you for your cooperation!

    Acknowledgements

Before you become a Brewster Whitecap Player, we need to make you aware of some crucial elements of our organization so that you can spend your time with us focused on playing and not paperwork. Please Initial after every statement.
  • As a Whitecap you will be held to a standard of conduct. Please acknowledge that you have read our Code of Conduct (https://www.brewsterwhitecaps.org/code-of-conduct) and will hold yourself to the following standards:

    Curfew

Team curfew is 12:00am (midnight) Sunday through Thursday and 1:00am on Friday and Saturday. Violators face suspension or release from the team without expense reimbursement. The General Manager and Housing Director instructs Host Families to report curfew infractions as part of their responsibility to the club. You are here to play baseball. Please be considerate of your host family and show them some respect by staying within curfew times.

    Alcohol

The legal drinking age is 21 in Massachusetts. Therefore the club specifically forbids the use of alcohol by any Whitecaps player under the age of 21. Any underage player apprehended for an alcohol violation will be immediately suspended from the team and their college coach notified. Besides, drinking and playing at your best do not mix.

    Drugs

The use or selling of illegal drugs by any player is strictly prohibited. All players must abstain from the use of any controlled substances unless medically prescribed and must report any prescribed usage to the Coach, Athletic Trainer, and the General Manager before arrival on the Cape. Massachusetts law is particularly harsh on those who sell drugs within the proximity of school grounds.

    Conduct Review and Enforcement

Please note that any violations of the CCBL Code of Conduct and/or the Brewster Baseball Club Policies as described throughout this website will result in discipline up to and including immediate suspension or release from the team with no travel expense reimbursement. Generally, a first minor incident of misconduct results in a warning. A subsequent incident results in a hearing before the Conduct Review Committee with a decision on release or suspension requiring a majority vote.

    Orientation and Housing Guidance
  • To ensure a great summer experience for both players and host families we have provided this quick summary to orient everyone and provide a background to how our organization works.

    Housing Guidance

    Accommodations

Your host family minimum requirement is to provide you with a bed and access to a full bathroom, laundry facilities, and a kitchen.

$20 per day covers this and is collected by the Whitecaps in part during
registration with subsequent amounts billed to your Parent/Guardian. The
Whitecaps in turn will pay host families.

    Food

Providing food by host family is encouraged, but not required. We ask that host families stock breakfast items and have food available for players to reheat after away games.

The Player has the ultimate responsibility to feed themselves. $20 a day does not cover food. However many hosts will provide some food, but not necessarily provide your meals. PLEASE, be sure to discuss this with your host family upon arrival so there is no confusion. After every Home Game, a meal will be provided for the players in the picnic area from local restaurants and donors.

    Host Rules and Expectations

Upon arrival, host families should Review and Discuss any house rules or expectations. It is their home and the players are their guests.

Please obey team rules. Curfew is midnight Sunday thru Thursday, 1:00am Friday and Saturday. Be respectful and follow the rules of your host family.

    Support and Interaction

Interact with your hosts! They are not doing this for the money, but to support you and provide you with an incredible opportunity and have a fun experience. Consider yourself an exchange student and take this opportunity to learn more about your family and the Cape Cod area.

    Transportation

Host families are not required to provide transportation for their player.
If you do not have a car, please work out transportation arrangements with other players or ask for assistance from your General Manager, Housing Director, or Coaches.

    Visitors and Family

Host families are not required to accommodate other players, player’s families, or their friends. It is their personal decision if you wish to do that.

Ask your family first before inviting anyone over. Spending the night anywhere other than your host family house is not allowed without special permission from the housing director.

    Communication

Host families should have your cell phone number and you need theirs. Texting is the best way to contact each other, however it is important to discuss how you would like to be contacted.

Please communicate with your host families so they know where you are.

Please Note: If any player, parent/guardian, or host family has any concerns or issues arise before or during the season, please contact the General Manager and Housing Director immediately so we can resolve them.

  • Housing Acknowledgements (cont.)

The following is an explanation of costs and payments associated with our housing program. At the bottom we ask you initial that you have read the following and understand the costs and payment process.
  • Host Family Reimbursements
Player families are asked to pay $20 per day to the Brewster Whitecaps to offset the cost of providing housing to their players with our Whitecaps selected host families. The Whitecaps in turn pay the same amount, $20 per day, to our host families as a token stipend to offset costs they incur.

    Housing Invoicing
Players arriving before 6/16/25 will pay $1,320 to the Whitecaps as part of the online registration process. Players seeking housing with Whitecaps host families cannot register without making this payment.

Players who are not seeking housing with Whitecaps host families or are seeking financial assistance with housing should contact the General Manager.

Players seeking housing with Whitecaps host families cannot register without making this payment. Payments will be as follows:

     2025 Summer Housing Payment – Pay $1,320

If a player arrives late or leaves early a refund will be issued to the debit or credit card used by the player family in the registration process.

If you are paying by check please contact Robert Tobias VPfinance@brewsterwhitecaps.org

    ...and finally!
  • Managing Host Family Perceptions

Your behavior around your Host Family leaves a lasting impression. Please understand the motivation of these families is not for the money. They take players because they believe it makes an important contribution to your success and the Whitecaps organization makes an important contribution to the community. Without local support, the Whitecaps could not exist.

In many cases, Host Families also want to make this an enriching experience for their own family, especially if they have young children. Please be aware that your presence in their households is, in most cases, a very big deal. We don’t expect players to be a model of perfection, however we do expect them to be well-mannered, considerate, and communicative. Like many players before you, you may discover that your Host Family members will not only be your biggest fans, but also friends for life.

    Meals and Laundry

Even though Host Families may ask you to eat with them, players are ultimately responsible for their own food and supplies. The host family is asked to provide storage and special refrigerator space and use of their laundry facilities.

    Guests

Most host families welcome visits from teammates, but permission should be asked before extending any invitations. Do not assume the Host Family will provide additional accommodations for overnight guests. Please inform the GM Staff and Housing Director as far in advance as possible when you are expecting a visit from family members or others. We want to make them feel welcome and possibly assist in finding accommodations for them,

    Changing Housing Arrangements

Players are not permitted to change housing arrangements on their own.

Finally, all this information and more can be found on our website at www.brewsterwhitecaps.org/welcome-players-parents-and-hosts. Please make sure to share this with your parents.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read and understand our processes. By doing so you will find your Cape Leage Summer to be a lot more fun and help make all our volunteer's jobs a lot easier.
