GENERAL INFORMATION - PROFESSIONAL ARTIST

PLEASE NOTE: Kaleidoscope may add an additional evening event for vendors to participant in on October 6, 2023, anytime between 4-10pm. Additional information and confirmation will be sent at time of application approval.

Application Deadline: Applications will be received until June 30, 2023. To be eligible for the fee discount, application must be received prior to May 31, 2023. Applications are based on availability and may be subjected to a waitlist.

Application Fee: $150 (early bird special); $200 (regular rate)

Payment: Payment is required upon submission of application.

Booth Space: Artist is provided a 10'X10' square tented space that includes (1) 6' table and (2) chairs. No power is avaliable.

Invited Artists Receive:

• A boxed lunch and bottled water, with a maximum of (2) each, per booth.
• 24-hour on-site private security.
• Artist information included and on the event website.
• Knowledgeable, attentive, and helpful staff.
• An atmosphere of appreciation, kindness, and celebration that makes the event truly unique.

Artist Representation of Original Artwork: Artist agrees that all work submitted to the jury process and displayed and represented for sale to the public at Kaleidoscope Music and Art Festival 2023 has been designed and executed by the Artist. All work exhibited must be for sale. Artist certifies that all jury images submitted represent his/her original work. Artist may display only work juried in the medium accepted. The Kaleidoscope Music and Art Fesitval 2023 reserves the right to advise artist of any work that does not meet standards and may take action deemed necessary for compliance. Application must represent the individual artisan who is applying. Each Artisan/Artist must submit their own application.

• Ceramics: Art that is Original Clay Work. No machine made or mass-produced work will be accepted.
• Clothing/Textiles: Handmade cloth items created by processing, weaving or knitting. No manufactured items.
• Drawing and Pastel: Drawing and Pastel is art created with pencils, charcoal, chalk, pastels, etc.
• Fiber: No machine tooling, machine-screened patterns or other forms of mass production accepted. This category is intended for handcrafted fiber, straw, leather, or other similar materials.
• Glass: No molds or other forms of mass production allowed.
• Jewelry: No commercial casts, molds, or production studio work.
• Metal: Any art work that is handcrafted from material such as gold, tin, iron, silver, bronze, or aluminum.
• Mixed Media & Digital Art: Mixed Media art uses MULTIPLE media with a relief depth of LESS than 1/8" of an inch thick. This category includes collage, handmade paper, fiber that is not wearable, etc. Digital Art is art in which the original image was created by the artist, using a computer. Work must be in limited editions, signed and numbered, on archival quality materials.
• Painting: Works created using oil, acrylic, or watercolor paints on canvas, archival paper, or handmade paper.
• Photography: Art using a camera, including black and white or color digital or original prints from negatives.
• Sculpture: Art that is a 3-dimensionally sculptural and is original work done in any medium.
• Woodwork: Original hand-tooled, machine worked or carved work. If painted or inlaid with a different material, applicants should choose 3-D Mixed Media.

Photographs/Images

Submit one (1) set of ten (10) good quality photographs/images. Submission should include eight (8) images of your work, one (1) of your entire stocked booth display, and one (1) of you working in your studio. Photographs/Images should be current (within the past two years). Photographs/Images should represent all work/merchandise for sale. Presentation is a key component/criteria for selection of event artisans. Photographs/Images will not be returned. Applications will be removed from the site when spaces are full.

GENERAL INFORMATION - CRAFT VENDOR

Application Deadlines & Schedule: Applications will be received until June 30, 2023. To be eligible for the fee discount, application must be received prior to May 31, 2023. Applications are based on availability and may be subjected to a waitlist.

Application Fee: $75 (early bird special); $125 (regular rate)

Payment: Payment is required upon submission of application.

Booth Space: Vendors are provided a 8' x 8' space, in a shared tent, a 4' x 6' display grid that may be shared with vendor behind, (1) 6' table and (2) chairs. No power is available.

Juried Process: All applications are juried; limited space available. Process will consist of a three panelled jury that independently scores applications based off of product photos and product(s) as a whole. Maximum score is 50 points and scoring criteria include: applicant's location, artistic quality, originality, and marketability. Final determination will be made by September 1, 2023.

Crafts must be ready to display/hand and crafters must provide hanging hooks and supplies. Crafters are welcome to display/install their items the day before or morning of the festival. Crafts must be palatable for most reasonable family friendly environments.

GENERAL INFORMATION - JUNIOR MAKER

Application Deadlines & Schedule: Applications will be received until June 30, 2023. Applications are based on availability and may be subjected to a waitlist.

Application Fee: $25 (flat rate fee)

Age Requirement: All Junior Maker participants MUST be 17 or younger.

Payment: Payment is required upon submission of application.

Booth Space: Vendors are provided a 8' x 8' space, in a shared tent, a 4' x 6' display grid that may be shared with vendor behind, (1) 6' table and (2) chairs. No power is available.

Juried Process: All applications are juried; limited space available. GENERAL INFORMATION - ARTLIGHT EXHIBIT

Kaleidoscope Art & Music Festival is a unique art show providing an opportunity for the public to learn, enjoy and appreciate art and culture. The ArtLight Exhibit was created to provide an opportunity for teachers and their classrooms, organizations, and individual student or novice artists to display their artwork for FREE. For example, teachers use this as a class assignment and then submit all their students' artwork to be displayed. A novice artist can use this as an opportunity to exhibit their art and network with the community. artists are encouraged to bring giveaways and display their contact information with their art. Art should be limited to sizes 8.5x11 to 16x16. The size of the art determines how many pieces can be accepted. Art is displayed on lattice.

This invitation is for display purposes only. Participants may not sell work. If you are a Professional/Above Novice Artist and interested in selling your works, use the Professional Artist Application (fees apply).

Participants may sit in a chair provided by the City near artwork display. One chair will be provided per space. One small table will be provided and shared between two spaces. Tables are for business cards, brochures, giveaways, flyers relating to art and/or organization. Ice chests, coolers, food items, and personal belongings must be stored off festival grounds once gates are open to the public. Participants should use food court tables to eat and drink while on festival grounds.

Calling North Los Angeles County organizations, businesses, non-profits and schools! Those who offer visual or performing art classes and/or programs may apply to participate in this years event. Kaleidoscope Art & Music Festival is a unique art show providing an opportunity for the public to learn, enjoy and appreciate art and culture. This visual and performing art application was created to provide an opportunity for partners to involve their agency for FREE.

This invitation is for display, demonstration/teaching or interactive purposes only. Vendors may not sell work. If you are a professional artist and are interested in selling your work, please use the Professional Artist Application (fees apply).
