ISCN 2023 Speaker Agreement

We are honored to invite you to present at our 2023 Virtual ISCN Conference. ISCN 2023 is a 3-day virtual event, the conference will be released on June 30, 2023. Our goal is to bring together leading physicians and researchers in the field, to share their work and to present presentations on a wide range of subjects, to foster learning and inspiration in Clinical Neuroscience.

 Your presentation will be pre-filmed, and a digital copy will be released to attendees on June 30.

This Agreement is between the Carrick Institute (CI) EDUCATIONAL PROVIDERRE and SPEAKER/PRESENTER(S), whereby CI agrees to engage the services of each speaker/presenter at the International Symposium on Clinical Neuroscience conference under the terms and conditions outlined below.

Presentation Requirements

All presentations should be RECORDED with Dr. Garcia by May 30, 2023. 

You will receive a link to book your recording for ISCN 2023. 

CI is presenting this conference for continuing education credits. In order for CI to abide by The Florida Board of Medicine Standards and Guidelines, speakers/presenters are asked to abide by all CI deadlines to meet criteria for continuing educational approval.  

An educational session is not an opportunity to promote or demonstrate company products or merchandise.   No presentation shall contain merchandising material for a product or service, nor will promotional materials be distributed to attendees before, during, or after the presentation.  CI does not permit sales pitches or product demonstrations during educational sessions. If your session is product/service oriented, CI expects the presentation to focus on the technology being used in the field and NOT on a single product or service your organization can or does provide.  No presentation 
shall contain merchandising material for a product or service.  Promotional materials may not be distributed to attendees before or after the presentation.

To ensure all CE activities are free from bias, all speakers/presenters must declare (here and at time of presentation) any disclosures or vested interests associated with their presentation.

Speaker/presenter agrees to indemnify, hold harmless, and defend CI for any alleged liability resulting from Speaker/presenter’s presentation, both verbal and written, including libel, slander, violation of copyright, or misstatement of fact.

CI CANCELLATION POLICY
Not withstanding the foregoing, CI may cancel without penalty due to acts of God, war, civil disorder, government regulation, disaster (including, but not limited to, fire, flood, severe weather, and earthquake), construction ongoing at the time of the meeting preventing or unreasonably delaying at least thirty percent (30%) of attendees from attending, strikes or work stoppages, a bankruptcy filing involving either party, or any other situation making it inadvisable, illegal or impossible to provide the facilities or to hold the meeting.

SPEAKER/PRESENTER CHANGES / CANCELLATIONS

We realize unexpected situations occur, causing you to have to request a change to your speaker status or even cancel your speaking role. If this should happen, please notify CI immediately by emailing admissions@carrickinstitute.com or calling 321-231-0974.

In addition, please bear the following in mind:

While we may ask for your help in finding a replacement, the speaking slot is not held or owned by you or any Institution you may be representing and is not necessarily transferable to another colleague of your choosing. While CI will certainly take into consideration any recommendations you may have for filling the vacated slot, CI reserves the right to reassign the slot to another submitter of its choice if necessary.

If this situation should arise at the last minute, CI does expect the speaker be able to offer a back-up plan.

Please do not fail to show up to your recording date. 

Submit Record and submit your COMPLETE and FINAL PowerPoint ® presentation(s) to CI on or before May 30, 2023. 

Please provide reference materials, notes etc that will assist the participant’s comprehension of your presentation by May 30, 2023.

Previously Published Materials:  The content of slides and reference materials associated with continuing education activities shall remain the ultimate responsibility of the speaker/presenter. Please do not develop or present any educational material that would intentionally violate, infringe or impede the legal or equitable rights of re-publication held by any person or organization, unless such use has have been previously authorized by the person or organization holding such legal or equitable rights. If you are using articles that have been previously published, please provide a current signed permission for reproduction from the publisher or other holder of legal or equitable rights of dissemination of the previously published materials permitting use in your proposed presentation.  If you are using excerpts from articles that have been previously
published, please always give the appropriate acknowledgements/citations for any such excerpts.  These requirements exist to protect both CI and you from a claim of copyright infringement.

In granting this consent and agreement, I acknowledge CI shall be under no obligation to pay for the permission/license I have granted to CI to record, reproduce, publish, and distribute the work.

By signing this agreement, I further represent and warrant I am the sole author and owner of the work and all rights in and to all portions of the aforementioned work; the work is original; it does not violate or infringe on any personal or property rights of others, whether common law or statutory; it contains nothing libelous or otherwise contrary to law; and I am authorized and empowered to enter into the agreement.  I further agree to indemnify and hold harmless CI, its officers, directors, employees, and volunteers from any and all claims of copyright infringement made against CI and arising out of the work and my presentation of the work at the CI conference. I further represent and warrant the work contains no material from other works protected by copyright have been used without the written consent of the copyright owner.

I acknowledge I have read this consent and release prior to signing it, and I understand its contents. I understand CI is relying on this agreement and release, and my release and consent are irrevocable.
