COMMITTEES

Becoming involved in a committee is one of the best ways to enhance your member experience. Committee participation provides countless networking and leadership development opportunities. Participating in a committee is also a rewarding way to gain a better understanding of the association and real estate industry.

BOMA TECHNICAL ORGANIZATION - Develops and provides programs for building engineers. The BTO meets throughout the year.COMMUNITY SERVICE THROUGH CRE CARES - BOMA Georgia members are provided with community service opportunities through CRE CARES. The Community Service Committee meets throughout the year to plan and prepare for volunteer service activities.GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS COMMITTEE - Monitors, studies and recommends policy and advocacy strategies on legislative and regulatory matters that affect the commercial real estate industry. The GAC meets throughout the year, most heavily during the state legislative session at the beginning of each year.INDUSTRY INSIGHT COMMITTEE - Exercises think-tank and brainstorming exercises throughout the year to assist in the development of programming and editorial content for the association. The IIC meets throughout the year.TOBY COMMITTEE - Plans and conducts the activities leading to the selection of The Outstanding Building of the Year (TOBY) Awards, including the Earth Award. The TOBY Committee meets one time in December or January of each year.TRADE SHOW COMMITTEE - Performs various duties in support of and in preparation for the annual BOMA Georgia Trade Show. These duties include advising and recommending improvements to the Trade Show; selecting the show theme; organizing the Silent Auction; and providing volunteer assistance the day of the show. The Trade Show Committee meets several times from January through May of each year.
RESOURCE GROUPS

Resource Groups bring individuals with like interests together to learn, network, and share experiences. Resource Groups are led by a chair and vice chair and, unlike committees, gather for professional development programs and other events rather than for committee planning meetings. By joining a Resource Group, you will receive communications on programs and events that are designed to meet your unique needs.

ALLIED MEMBER RESOURCE GROUP - The Allied Member Resource Group provides opportunities to help product and service providers better understand the real estate industry, build sales and marketing skills, and grow their professional network.COMMUNITY MANAGERS RESOURCE GROUP - The Community Managers Resource Group addresses the unique needs of community managers, tenant experience/service managers and others interested in tenant and community experiences through educational programs, experiences, tours and networking opportunities.EMERGING PROFESSIONALS RESOURCE GROUP - The Emerging Professionals Resource Group brings together real estate industry professionals who are relatively new to the real estate industry, including individuals who are 35 years of age and younger and individuals who are starting their real estate career, regardless of age. The group provides unique networking opportunities, educational programs, and other resources designed to help emerging real estate professionals accelerate their career.FACILITIES MANAGEMENT RESOURCE GROUP - The Facilities Management Resource Group address the unique needs of facilities management professionals through educational programs, facility tours, and networking opportunities. Allied Industry members may join this resource group, but not all resource group programming is open to non-sponsoring product and service providers.INDUSTRIAL RESOURCE GROUP - The Industrial Real Estate Resource Group meets the unique needs and interests of property professionals engaged in the industrial real estate sector. The group provides a forum for collaborate, learn, and network. Allied Industry members may join this resource group, but not all resource group programming is open to non-sponsoring product and service providers.MEDICAL OFFICE AND HEALTHCARE FACILITIES RESOURCE GROUP - The Medical Office and Healthcare Facilities Resource Group provides opportunities for real estate professionals to better understand and respond to the unique needs of this growing sector of the real estate industry. Allied Industry members may join this resource group, but not all resource group programming is open to non-sponsoring product and service providers.
MEMBER EXPERIENCE VOLUNTEERS

New in 2026! The Member Experience Volunteers group offers short, focused ways for BOMA Georgia members to get involved throughout the year. Opportunities may include helping welcome new members, supporting events and programs, and promoting BOMA Georgia to others. Each role is project-based with a clear scope and limited time commitment. This group is ideal for members who want to contribute in meaningful ways without a long-term commitment.

WELCOME TABLE VOLUNTEERS - The Welcome Table Volunteers help create a friendly first impression at BOMA Georgia’s flagship events. They staff the membership table, greet attendees, and assist new and prospective members with basic questions and directions. This role focuses on making people feel welcomed, informed, and connected from the moment they arrive. It is a simple, high-impact way to support member engagement at key events throughout the year.NEW MEMBER ORIENTATION VOLUNTEERS - The New Member Orientation Volunteers help welcome and guide new and prospective members as they learn about BOMA Georgia. Volunteers may assist with presenting the orientation program, leading small group or table activities, and answering questions. They also share their own member experience to help others understand how to get involved and make the most of their membership. This group plays a key role in creating a clear, engaging, and welcoming first experience with the association.BOMA SHOW PROMOTION TEAM - The BOMA Show Promotion Team helps spread the word about the annual BOMA Show. Volunteers help promote property professional attendance at the trade show. They encourage others to attend the event through leveraging their personal and professional network and through social media. This group ensures that the BOMA Show remains the largest annual trade show of its kind in Georgia.
