Before 1998

These numbers vary greatly, for accurate information we recommend an Authentication Certificate. The format can be broken down as shown in the chart below, spaces have been left for you to copy the format.

Here, our example is a Western (W) saddle (see chart below for Style Legend) built in January (1) 1987 (87). The unique ID was 231, which does not have a meaning, it was generally the sequential number on the line.

1998-2005

The easiest way to read a model number from 1998-2006 is to start by breaking down the number. The chart below has spaces for you to do so. Please note not all saddles will have the full 14 digits, formats varied.

For information on the model number please purchase an Authentication Certificate. Unique ID did not have an assigned meaning, it was generally the sequential number on the line (in the example this would have been the 384th saddle made in 2002 for that model and size)

2006-Present

Use the Serial Number Lookup Search

For saddles built after 2006 you can look your saddle up using the Serial Lookup Tool or manually read the number below.

For information on the model number please purchase an Authentication Certificate. The serial number (the second number on the plate) first 4 digits are the year the saddle was made.
