Stable Spaces Survey 2023
  • Stable Arts Spaces Survey

  • Thank you for taking the time to click the link to start this survey.

  • This is a New Zealand wide survey of the current state of accomodation for independent arts organisations and businesses, including sole traders

The survey should take 15 - 20 minutes to complete.

It will ask you to share some details about your business, practice, collective or organisation's current situation including:

    • how you are housed,
    • what proportion of your budget housing is taking up,
    • if your housing is appropriate, and
    • what impact that has on your ability to realise your mission.

The person filling out the survey should have a good overview of your organisation's operations and needs.

You will need some financial details to hand – annual turnover and annual accomodation costs – so grab your latest financial return or annual report before you start. We're asking for this information so we can accurately report how much accomodation is costing the arts.

All the data we collect will be anonymised before analysis and publication.

An analysis of the data will be published in a public report and the aggregated data will be released as an open data set for the arts to use for future advocacy around their accomodation needs.

The survey is delivered by Dr Melissa Laing and funded by Manatū Taonga.
