Completing this application is a step in the process to acquiring a puppy but it does not guarantee you will get a puppy from this or any future litter. While it's unlikely, we do reserve the right to refuse any placement at any time for any reason.
OUR TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
PLEASE READ AND CONFIRM THAT YOU UNDERSTAND
APPROVAL AND DEPOSIT: We will review your application within 2 business days of receipt. Applications are processed in the order they are received. If your home is a good fit, we will notify you. Approved applications will be kept on file and will be notified when a litter is born. Total cost of a puppy is currently $1900 (if this price ever changes then we will notify applicants prior to any deposit). We do not accept down payments until puppies are born and we know the gender and colors that are available. The non-refundable deposit of $300.00 will be due immediately and the puppy will be reserved upon receipt of the down payment. The remaining $1600 is due in cash on the day of pick-up (when puppies are 8 weeks of age). If you would like to make an online payment (Venmo, Zelle, or Good Dog) then those payments need to be made at least 24 hours prior to pick-up.
GOING HOME: We cannot hold puppies for extended times; it is critical for their social development that the litter departs within a reasonable time frame. If you have a big vacation planned or have events that would conflict with a young puppy, please know puppies cannot be boarded in a kennel until they have received their full immunizations and their rabies vaccination, which cannot be done until 14-16 weeks of age. Sometimes we are able to hold your puppy for a reasonable amount of time past the pick-up date but arrangments need to be made prior to pick up and the final payment must be made by 8 weeks of age. There will be an additional $50 boarding fee per day that the puppy is boarded past 8 weeks of age and boarding fees need to be paid before the puppy leaves our home. If you do not make arrangements prior to the pick up date or payment is not made by 8 weeks of age then you will forfeit your deposit and we reserve the right to sell the puppy to another family.
CONTRACT: We have a contract and will not place a puppy without a signed contract. We believe it's the professional thing to do to memorialize our obligations to each other on paper so there are no questions later. If you have questions about specific terms, you need to contact us prior to picking up your puppy. A copy of the contract is availble at any time upon request and also posted on our Puppy page at www.MilkyWayAussies.com.
SPAY/NEUTER: We require you to spay/neuter your puppy between the approximate age of12-18 months; However if you have a puppy in Doggy Day Care then they may require this be done sooner. We do ask that you hold off until as close to 12 months as possible because medium to large breed dogs need the hormones to aid in the development of their growth plates. If you are purchasing a puppy in the hopes of breeding then breeding rights can be discussed for an additional fee. Breeding is a very delicate process and we require breeding dogs have genetic and hip testing done prior to breeding. If you decide to go down that route we will be with you every step of the way. We will only release breeding rights to AKC lines.
REGISTRATION PAPERS: Some of our pups do come with AKC papers. If you are interested in registering your puppy then we can register the litter and it would be up to you to register your puppy in your name. Please let us know up front if this is something you will need. We do not automatically register a litter unless it is requested and the paperwork does take some time.
