Thank-you for your interest in the Golden Rule KinderCare Program at Greystone Heights school.
Kindercare is open to children registered for kindergarten at Greystone Heights school.
Kindercare is limited to ten students per group/class for each morning and afternoon. We fill these spaces on a first registered, first confirmed basis.
Kindercare compliments their kindergarten schedule which means a kindergarten student can be in the school for the entire school day; half of the time in kindergarten, half of the time in kindercare.
KinderCare is intended for families at Greystone Heights school with a child enrolled in kindergarten as a child care option that is located within the child's elementary school. One pick up, one drop off for all school days.
Kindercare is offered for the duration of the half day kindergarten day, whether your child attends morning or afternoon. KinderCare will be available as follows:
For morning kindergarten students - to the end of the school day, until 3:00 pm; we pick students up from their class when the lunch bell rings; currently 11:35am
For afternoon kindergarten students – drop off to kindercare at 8:43am; care provided through lunchtime; children escorted to kindergarten at the afternoon bell; 12:15pm.
If you require care before 8:43am or past 3:00pm you have the option of using the Golden Rule Before & After School Program. This program starts at 7:30 and runs until the first bell and also starts again after school at 3:00, and runs until 6pm. This program is charged on an hourly basis with a one hour minimum charge and billed to the minute after that. Registration for this part of our program will be sent out at prior to school starting and can be used on a part time, full time or drop-in basis. The current charge for this program is $4.85 per hour and billed at the end of each month for time used. This part of our program does not have limited enrollment and can be done after August 15 when registration opens. Do not register now as the link is for the current school year.
KinderCare will begin on the first regular day of Kindergarten. Holidays & school closures will follow the Saskatoon Public School’s calendar. When there is no kindergarten, there is no KinderCare.
The fee structure is as follows:
KinderCare Only, all school days.

Your child must be enrolled in an AM or PM kindergarten class at Greystone Heights school to qualify for KinderCare. Enrollment in kindergarten is at the discretion of the school. Scheduling for AM/PM for kindergarten is done by the school and Golden Rule follows what they put in place.
The kindergarten students will be supervised over the lunch hour. Lunch hour supervision is included as part of the monthly fee. As with all Greystone Heights students, staying for lunch is a privilege and not a right and this service can be dismissed at any time. All parents are provided with a copy of the lunchroom guidelines at the start of the school year. Your child must be attending KinderCare on a specific day in order for them to stay for lunch on that day. Otherwise they must be picked up at the dismissal of AM kindergarten at 11:35 or dropped off directly to the school prior to PM kindergarten starting at 12:15.
Withdrawing your child from KinderCare
We must be given one month’s notice in writing of the withdrawal of your child. The full tuition for the one month must be paid even if you withdraw your child prior to completing the month. Golden Rule Preschool reserves the right to terminate KinderCare services at our own discretion should things not work out between your family and the KinderCare Program. See below.
Golden Rule Preschool and KinderCare Program reserves the right of terminating the contract if:
• we are unable to meet the needs of the child/children to be determined on a per child basis
• Excessive late pick-up.
• More than three checks are returned from the bank.
We will communicate will all registered families primarily via email, text or the remind App. Please be sure to add our email address, firstname.lastname@example.org to your address book so you receive all notices from us.
