Role Description
Job title: Stylist/Loctician & Braid Specialist
Location: Knotty Xpressions 200 Houston Avenue STE A1, League City TX 77573
Hours per week: Up to 40 hours per week including training time
Days of work: Varies
Pay: Hourly vs Commission: Base Rate vs 50% Commission

Overview
Your main focus in the salon is to work with managers and stylists to provide high quality service and support for clients visiting the salon.
Duties
Your main salon duties will include:
▪ Acting as an ambassador of the salon at all time
▪ Greeting clients, providing refreshments and helping to maintain the salon appearance
▪ Being available for work during all scheduled hours
▪ Smiling and always carrying a positive attitude at work
▪ Upholding the professional values, vibe and culture at Knotty Xpressions
▪ Properly and appropriately maintaining client relationships
▪ Being a courteous & helpful team player
▪ Providing TOP TIER customer service at all times
▪ Maintaining a clean, safe and nurturing work environment
▪ Participating in social media content and other marketing activities
▪ Continuously being eager to learn and improve skill
▪ Being willing to assist other team members
▪ Executing services solely using the products and skills approved, recommended and/or taught by Knotty Xpressions
▪ Being active and standing for long periods of time
▪ Executing the client checkout process
▪ Using cleaning chemicals such as dish soap, disinfectant, sanitizer & window cleaner.
▪ Preparing clients for service
▪ Shampooing and applying conditioner treatments as well as performing any other hairstyling tasks deemed suitable under supervision when necessary.
▪ Preparing equipment and materials for salon use
▪ Re-filling stocks of retail shelf and frequently used products
▪ Fully endorsing the products and services of the salon
▪ Learning to use the electronic point of sale system and dealing with some aspects of daily expenditure
Your main training duties will include:
▪ Attending all scheduled training sessions
▪ Following instructions and adequately learning each new subject
▪ Completing all project work and tests set by mentor
▪ Keeping safe all records of assessment
▪ Participating in periodic formal training reviews

Management and Supervision
You will have a dedicated mentor to support you during your journey. Health and safety training will be provided in house.

While performing duties of this job, the employee is required to:
▪ stand, walk, use hand to write, talk, hear, see, taste, smell, type on keyboard.
▪ Perform the duties of a hair stylist which requires standing for long periods of time, pushing, pulling, manual dexterity and proper ergonomic posture.
▪ The employee must regularly bend, kneel and lift and/or move up to 50 pounds (as necessary)
▪ Specific vision abilities required include distance vision, color vision and peripheral vision.
Work in a salon environment with moderate to loud noise levels and varying temperature conditions.
There are additional responsibilities associated with the opening and closing of the salon that a stylist will be responsible for completely dependent upon work shift.
