Project Overview
In 2016, the City of Sandy purchased the property now known as the Community Campus (formerly Cedar Ridge Middle School). Conversations are still ongoing about how to repurpose the old Cedar Ridge buildings for community use. Consideration of an aquatic facility or other community amenities will occur in a future phase.
To take advantage of available grant funds that are restricted to park development use, the City Council made the decision to move forward with refining previous design concepts to re-envision the lower field area as a community park.
The Sandy Community Campus Park will serve as a focal point and gathering place for all Sandy residents and include a wide range of park features.
To do this, we must first create a park design plan that:
- Identifies a unique vision for the park that reflects Sandy’s values, heritage, and community needs.
- Provides guidance on what types of features could be in the park (i.e., picnic shelters, playgrounds, etc.)
- Includes a timeline and budget for developing the park.
