Drive the change towards a sustainable future
The Université Paris Cité AIRE Master’s Degree is looking for students willing to accelerate the transitions of the 21st-century related to the sustainable development goals. Our interdisciplinary programme focuses on student-driven research-led projects combining deep theory and practice, collective design, international networking and exploring the unknown. This innovative learning experience provides a strong emphasis on empowering students to become independent thinkers and agents of change, better equipped to address the complex and rapidly changing challenges we face at individual, collective and planetary levels.
The world is currently facing an unprecedented number of complex crises. By leveraging new fields of expertise, we can mitigate the negative effects human activity is having on the planet and create a brighter future. Students will develop the capacities necessary to engage with these challenges such as agency, resilience and systems-thinking. To help them achieve this, they will acquire the tools necessary to navigate uncharted waters through courses combining approaches to health sciences, exact and natural sciences, earth sciences, social sciences and the humanities (e.g. science of sustainability, data science & statistics, information science, project management, etc.). Students will benefit from an environment of co-construction allowing for the development of strong foundations in Social and Scientific Entrepreneurship. To learn to care for oneself, others and the planet, students will be given the scope necessary to design effective solutions to the problems of our time regarding such questions as planetary health, environmental justice, education for sustainable development, etc.
We value a solid background (academic achievements and projects) in any discipline (e.g. with interests in life sciences, learning sciences, and/or digital sciences) together with an analytical and creative mindset. All further experiences (volunteering, business, entrepreneurial, artistic, etc.) are greatly appreciated and valued.
Applicants in September 2023 will have the exciting opportunity of joining our evolving interdisciplinary programme and participate in the curriculum-design.
The AIRE Master’s Degree is a national 2-year diploma of Université Paris Cité. The degree is part of the EURIP Graduate School which offers opportunities to continue your postgraduate studies with a 3-year PhD for selected applicants.
Regarding the fees, once the admission to the master is agreed, you have to register at Université Paris Cité. The tuition fees are fixed yearly by the Université Paris Cité. For the academic year 2023-2024, the decision was taken to maintain the tuition fees for international students to the same level as for French and European students (243€ registration + 95€ CVEC). This rule applies for students who haven't left their studies for more than 2 years.
Different fees apply for students registered in 'continuing education' or 'distance learning' and are fixed in May.
Our program can provide a very limited number of excellence scholarships (EURIP scholarship and Liliane Bettencourt Excellence fellowships), which will be awarded after the interviews on the basis of Academic Excellence.
