Important: (Please Read)
A Health Certificate is a USDA, Federal requirement that every pet travelng interstate MUST have. It is the same form the airlines require when your pet is traveling in-cabin or in cargo to another destination.
It is illegal for any pet to travel interstate (air or ground) without a Health Certificate. If there is a check point or if I am pulled over and asked for this documentation and do not have it, your fur-baby, purr-baby and/or scaly-baby can be confiscated and go to the nearest Animal Control. The USDA Health Certificate can be obtained from your pets veterinarian.
The Health Certificate is just your pets immunization record that is put into the USDA's system for interstate travel. (if travel is within the state, the Health Certificate is not needed) The airlines require ths documentation as well. This document just ensures that your pet is healthy to travel to another state. Each state tries to prevent and contain any diseases to prevent any out breaks.
If you are purchasing your new family member from a breeder, the breeder can obtain this form during your new pets last vet visit in time for your pets travel. This form is good within 10 days of your pets travel. Please insure you will have this document before transport.
