Zephyrhills, FL - Main Street Zephyrhills announces a call for artists to complete a mural for the Library Crosswalk in downtown Zephyrhills! Main Street Zephyrhills is pleased to invite an artist to bring joy to quiet places in our historic district. This mural will be an attraction for visitors and a source of pride for locals. This mural will serve dual purposes of adding flare to a traditional crosswalk and being an identifier of a safe place for pedestrian crossing.
Minimum Qualification, Conditions and Requirements:
Those interested in submitting applications must show demonstrated experience in the execution of art projects from concept to completion, meeting a specific budget and timeframe and working in the public realm with public agencies. A combination of experience and creative design will be considered.
Artist are responsible for all arrangements and site preparations, including pressure wash of surfaces and applying primer and final sealant, costs, including delivery of equipment, and tools, as necessary to provide a completed and installed work. All additional costs must be included in the proposed quote. A complete work is considered to be installed in place and accepted by Main Street Zephyrhills Design Committee. All installations must be able to withstand central Florida sub-tropical weather conditions. Safety is crucial for the artist and general public. Artists are responsible to ensure a safe environment while their work is in progress. Artist must maintain liability insurance, sign liability waiver and hold harmless waiver as required by the City of Zephyrhills.
All artwork must be completed by. Payments will be made in 3 installations at commencement, in-progress and at completion. Artists will be required to provide W-9 at time of executing Art Award Agreement.
Application Process:
Complete Applications shall include:
1. Application cover sheet
2. Itemized Budget clearly defining costs associated with the project. The total cost shall not exceed $5,000.
3. Professional resume, previous work on display and location, current gallery affiliations, documented exhibits, etc.
4. Links to digital portfolios including examples of work, news articles, accolades, etc.
