2026 Team Divisions:

Tball, U7, U9, U11, U13 and U15

Please see division info on the Burford Optimist Youth Baseball website. Division is determined by players age at December 31, 2025. Please sign up according to the player's correct division. If movement up or down is requested or required, we will contact you.

Registration includes a hat and jersey (to keep). Ball pants are a uniform requirement that you need to supply (black or grey as determined by the coach). Proper athletic footwear is required (no sandals, crocs). Cleats can be worn but must be non-metal.

For Tball, shirts and hats (to keep) are provided. Comfortable pants and proper athetic footwear recommended.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!

This baseball league is run by volunteers and we need your support to make this season a success. All parents/guardians will be required to pay a volunteer fee that will be reimbursed upon the fulfillment of a volunteer role, listed below (one payment per family). There is an option to not volunteer and opt out of the reimbursement. Anyone wishing to volunteer will be contacted via email to confirm their role.

Burford Optimist Youth Baseball will cover the costs of coaches training if needed. In the event of a surplus, anyone interested in coaching may receive an application via email to determine the best candidate. Burford Optimist Youth Baseball will cover half the cost of umpire clinics after 5 games have been umped.

The volunteer opportunities listed below, are the only ones that will be recognized for the reimbursement. Opportunites will be filled first come, first served, and based on the needs and best interest of the league. Reimbursment will be provided at the end of the season (by September 1).

PLEASE NOTE:

Teams will be formed using the following principles:
- Players will be welcomed from Burford and surrounding areas. Players closest to Burford's town center will be given priority should numbers exceed team caps.
- We reserve the right to use discretion for the development of team rosters when applying team cap limits. Teams in some divisions fill up very quickly. We encourage you to register early if you are certain you want to play as teams are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Players will play on the team associated with their birth year. In the event that we are not able to field a full team for any given age group, we will look at the possibility of players moving up or down. This will be done in consultation with players' parent(s) and the league the team plays in.
- Players with limited experience, may be invited to a skills evaluation day to determine whether they may be more successful on another team. This will be done in consultation with players' parent(s) and the league the team plays in.
Softball teams will follow Ontario Softball rules and regulations. Teams require a minimum number of players to be registered into the league. Travel is be expected (within an hour range) for all softball teams.

We will NOT guarantee a specific coach or team and will not allow switching of teams as we work hard to make the teams fair.

ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS AND CONDITIONS

In consideration of the acceptance of my or my child/ward's membership in the Burford Optimist Youth Baseball league, I, the participant and parent / guardian (if participant is under 18 years of age), agree as follows:

1.   I understand that I or my child / ward cannot play in any sanctioned baseball practice or game until after this registration form has been completed, signed waiver returned to the league (via email to burfordoptimistbaseball@outlook.com) and payment received in full.

2.   I have reviewed the waiver / participation agreement and my signature affixed hereto indicates my agreement with such waiver / participation agreement. The waiver can be found on the Burford Panthers Website Signed waivers can be emailed to burfordoptimistbaseball@outlook.com

3. I and my child/ward have reviewed the Code Of Conduct found on the Burford Optimist Youth Baseball website .

4.   I am aware of the District, Club and League bylaws, policies, rules and regulations and agree to abide by them and to be bound by them.

5.   I accept sole responsibility for my or my child’s / ward’s personal possessions and athletic equipment.

6. I accept all liability for any damage to the playing equipment caused by me or my child’s / ward’s careless, negligent and / or improper handling.
