Registration Process

This form registers you for the conference, but your workshop selection will happen through an online conference-management app called "Sched." Participants will be able to directly select their classes on a first-come-first-serve basis. Login and use information for this service will be provided upon registration.

Registration Tiers

Participants: $300 ($250 for TCA Members)
Fully-interactive participation in all workshop and intensive blocks as well as seating at all plenary sessions. Participants will be able to select their schedules via Sched, an online conference-management program. Includes 3 conference meals.

Observers: $150 ($100 for TCA Members)
Observers are allowed a seat in the workshop spaces, but may not actively play instruments or participate in other workshop activities that would require instructor attention. Observers will be able to select their schedule preferences through a separate form rather than through the main registration system. Includes seating at all plenary sessions and 3 conference meals.

Chaperones: $30
This tier is for Chaperones of participating minors who will themselves not be participating in workshops. Attendees of this Tier may observe workshops that their ward(s) are attending but may not participate in the workshops. If intending to participate in workshops and chaperone, please register under "Participants." Includes seating at all plenary sessions and 3 conference meals.

Meals included at NATC-R 2023 are:
- Friday Dinner (after TaikoGO!)
- Saturday Lunch
- Saturday Dinner
- Sunday Lunch

Snacks and bottled water will also be available for attendees.

PARENTAL WAIVER PERMISSION TO PARTICIPATE IN NATC-R Hilo 2023

I, {attendeesParentguardian}, am the parent or legal guardian of {attendeesName96}, a minor. I give my permission for my child/ward to attend the NATC-R Hilo, to be held on June 30,2023 to July2, 2023. Additionally, I give my child/ward permission to participate in event based workshops and meals in the course of this trip at their discretion.

I hereby release Taiko Community Alliance from any and all liability related to or arising out of my child/ward’s participation in this event, including but not limited to their travel to, attendance at NATC-R Hilo, and provision of meals. In addition, I agree to reimburse Taiko Community Alliance for any and all costs or liabilities it incurs as a result of my child/ward’s participation in this event.

I acknowledge that TCA is not responsible for coordinating the supervision or chaperoning of my child/ward, and either myself or a designated adult will serve in this capacity if required.

I understand that TCA is not responsible for supervision of my child/ward outside of stated NATC-R activities and is in no way responsible for any financial costs incurred by them in the course of this event.

Chaperone Information:

Attendees below the age of 18 shall be accompanied at the conference at all times by a reponsible Chaperone, where "accompanied" means being on site together, though not necessarily in the same classroom. Chaperones may also be a conference Participant, and may act as chaperone for multiple youngsters at their discretion.

Chaperones are responsible for the health, safety, and security of their wards and will be TCA's point of contact for any concerns.

Those registering in the "Chaperone Tier" may attend workshops that their ward(s) are enrolled in as observers, but many not activly participate in the workshops.

Chaperones who are participating in workshops and enrolled at the "Participant Tier" are not required to attend the same workshops as their ward(s), but should coordinate with the Conference Manager (gregory@taikocommunityalliance.org).

TCA Code of Conduct
Note: The code of conduct does not prevent participants or workshop instructors from wearing branded clothing or discussing their own classes, events, or offerings. TCA's Non-Solicitation Policy had caused some confusion about this. This policy is meant to protect participants from unwanted marketing or upselling, not to police normal networking that happens at a conference. Workshop leaders are free to discuss their other offerings and collect contact information.
